You will find it difficult to find a 90% mortgage these days, the banks and building societies seem to have got rid of these in the last couple of years. See an independent mortgage advisor as they have access to all the current deals.

If you find a way, let me know! We've got the plans, we've got the planning permission, but we can't find a bank to lend us the money. Sad

I'm amazed at how expensive the cost of building work seems to be - do you really need to borrow the value of your entire home plus the land it is built on in order to build an extension?

Might need to rethink some of our plans for the future [gulp emoticon].

RBS have offered us 90% of the current value of our home. Single storey extension is going to cost us about 40k, but with house prices being so weak atm I don't think our house would value high enough to give us that amount of equity.

A few years ago, no problem. Current climate? Almost no chance.

RBS do 90% mortgages so I'd presume Natpest would do the same as they are the same. Was in a branch during the week to discuss our options hece the reason I know.

You may get a 90% mortgage via a broker but it will be very high interest.

Tefal, they're not the same any more, rbs branches have been sold to santander.
