Hi

I start work on the 14th, when should I go into income support and let them know about this, obviously I will be going in before this date but is there some sort of criteria for going in or can I just go in the day before and say I got a job starting tomorrow

also how does it work out as its gonna take the new job two weeks to pay me, so will i just be two weeks with no income etc

anyone know about tax credits and how many I would be getting on a salary of £6 for a 36 hr week, I'm just trying to get everything organised etc

thanks

Look at the letter which Income Support (DWP) sent you, and see what it says about "Change of Circumstances" which you have to notify them about.

Look at the letter and phone them up and ask the questions.

Or look at their web site www.dwp.gov.uk

If you speak to your lone parent advisor they can help you with fast track tax credits...sooner the better really.

Yes you are likely to be two weeks without an income- how long you been on Income Support? If more than 6 mths I would apply for a budgeting loan NOW to help through the interim period- Yes its not one of the caterogies but as its a repayable loan it doesnt really matter.

Do you know if you will qualify for the Extended housing benefit payment/job grant/ back to work credit?

How long you been claiming I.S?

Why do lone parents get more support than men who get incapacity benefit?
