thanks bookswapper, i have it here - just in the nick of time i'd just finished re-reading one for a rl bookgroup (had read it first when it was published and it made me feel old to realise this was 1992 - no wonder i caouldn't remmeber it well) Thanks for the note, looking forward to it. Off to a concert now at wrok, going to start it when i get back with a glass of something
