I am sending warm and comforting thoughts your way - so sorry to hear and hope you are recovering. Sorry that I can't send a cheerful, uplifting book this time to you but there have been none so far this year (imho).It's given me time to read other stuff though and I've enjoyed American Wife - Curtis Sittenfeld (sp?) and The Thirteenth Tale Diana Settenfield or something spookily similar, try them from the library if you don't like this month's either.

Flamesparrow I am half way through yours and enjoying it very much, last read it as a teenagerand have forgotten the ending so am pleased about that!

So sorry cynara, take care of yourself. Trying to think of some cheery book recommendations and I don't think I've read a single upbeat book lately, but Cold Comfort Farm is one I always go back to if I need a boost.

I had two books this month, so will post one tomorrow, and the other when I finish it! I enjoyed the first one, and the second one is really good - looking forward to reading it each night.
