Following on from the chat about blind dates with books, speak up here if you fancy doing a book swap.

Me too - I think it's important to remember that it doesn't have to be a proper review, even just one sentence on if you liked it or not is better than nothing.

So I got my book!!!

Tricky to know what to do if people have had books sent on to them late (as happened to my sender) and then received late and a domino effect occurs. I know some people read quite fast. Others less so. @KeithLeMonde please can we have a ruling? Extra time allowed? A month on hold? Or push on with sending on time anyway so not to break the chain?

I think everyone is well intentioned but life gets in the way.

I'm glad your two books haven't been lost - maybe a catch-up month could be a good idea.

Ultimately, whilst I understand that usually it is not your fault if you don't manage to finish a book by the end of the month, maybe we should have a rule that you have to send it on then whether you have finished it or not. If you haven't managed to finish by then then you will have to get it from the library or buy it or whatever if you really want to finish.

I'm happy with that, personally. Month on hold. Then passing on for the beginning of the month for subsequent months.

@tobee and @mygastisflabbered do you both send to me? If so (I am pretty sure you do) then I would say let's swap as normal this moth (as some books have already been sent) but send me the books when you can during November - I am a pretty quick reader and hopefully can catch up.

I am going to PM everyone now though to say please swap at the beginning of the month even if you have not been able to finish. Sorry, I know it is a bit tough if that happens but otherwise the swap will fall apart.

And yes yes yes please do write reviews and come back and see what others have written as well.

It's fine, Keith. I'm just aware I'm a slow reader. I had opened a new book after waiting patiently by my doormat for two weeks. I started reading and, I swear, 15 minutes, later my book swap book came through the letter box. I can conjure these things up, I tell ya!

My next book arrived on 18th Oct (only just picked it up from post office as was out when it arrived) - I think this is my November book already as I received the October one at the end of Sep - someone is very keen! Smile

Just finished my book and posted it on - looking forward to receiving my new book.

The book swap is definitely taking me out if my reading comfort zone - I’ve read a few books now that I probably wouldn’t have considered reading if left to my own devices and I have enjoyed most of them.

Looking forward to this one, it's not a book that I've heard of before and it looks really good.
