Having recently missed the chance to be a part of a new bookswap, I am just wondering if there is anyone else who would like to start up a new one with me?

Book and chocolate received, thanks acsec!

I'm intrigued by the book, haven't read it before so keen to get stuck in and the chocolate looks delicious!

Has everyone now received their first book?

FlysInDreams · 16/06/2016 18:45

Book received yesterday.

Greenyogagirl · 16/06/2016 18:49

Enjoy flysindreams X
Not got mine yet, waaaaah!

Mariqui · 16/06/2016 19:12

Hopefully it will arrive with you soon Green!

Oh no green yoga girl... I sent it 1st class I thought you'd have it by now. Balls. Hopefully it will get there tomorrow for you.

I'm 100 pages into mine now... Wasn't sure I was going to like it at first but I am pretty hooked already now.

Greenyogagirl · 16/06/2016 19:23

Postie comes at 1pm so I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon if it shows up! X

desperatelyseekingcaffeine · 17/06/2016 07:24

Finished mine last night - really enjoyed it mariqui. Are we meant to be starting the threads and how exactly does that work. Do we each start for our own book then only look at the ones we've had?

Greenyogagirl · 17/06/2016 08:12

Do we hold onto the book until we're all ready to post again?
Hoping it comes today!

Mariqui · 17/06/2016 16:13

Wow, that was fast work desperately! Hope you have some others lined up to keep you going until next month?!

Yes we are meant to be starting threads - each person starts off the thread about their book and then others contribute once they have read it. The idea is not to look at the other threads to avoid ruining the surprise. We do need to decide on a group name before lots of threads start popping up, though, as otherwise it will be quite confusing with the other group.

Yes Greenyogagirl, that's the plan at least - otherwise people will soon be very out of sync. Has yours arrived today?

Greenyogagirl · 17/06/2016 16:33

Mine is here!
Looks really good, I'm excited to start. Chocolate was spot on as well, my absolute fave! X

Mariqui · 17/06/2016 17:18

Woop!

OP posts:
jobnockey · 17/06/2016 18:22

Yay! Really pleased it arrived, was starting to get worried! Hope you enjoying... It's a bit different but I found it quite thought provoking....

acsec · 17/06/2016 19:29

FlysinDreams choc is exciting, thank you! Sharing it with DH as he was intrigued. I don't like white chocolate but I'm happy with anything Grin

iloveredwine · 18/06/2016 09:36

Any ideas for a book group name yet?

desperatelyseekingcaffeine · 19/06/2016 07:10

The previous suggestion was A Novel Bunch which works for me. I'm rubbish at thinking up names don't know if anyone's got a better suggestion?

JennyWreny · 20/06/2016 08:25

I think A Novel Bunch was the best of the dreadful ideas I found when Googling! I'm really getting into my book now, how is everyone else getting along.

Mariqui do we each set up our own thread for our books so that our posts are in a different colour? I see the other group have not mentioned the name of their book or anything major about it even in the reviews!

iloveredwine I think you asked me about chocolate preferences further up the thread. I'm happy with any chocolate, although am less keen on white choc.

jobnockey Do you have any preference re: choc? When shopping I noticed choc including chilli, coffee, ginger, hazelnuts etc but I thought they were a bit risky for the first time, would any of those suit you, or do you prefer plain-ish choc?

jobnockey · 20/06/2016 08:57

re: Chocolate - I have yet to try some I don't like so anything will keep me happy! (apart from that horrible dog chocolate you get in pound shop advent calendars, even DS doesn't like that...)

Re: group name - We are in danger of becoming "The Book Group with No Name'! I really don't mind it's just a way to recognise the threads isn't it so we shouldn't worry too much about having to be clever or witty! lets just go with Novel Bunch if no one else has any suggestions?

I'm about half way through my book now...

iloveredwine · 20/06/2016 09:44

A novel bunch is fine with me too!*

JennyWreny* I will am glad you are getting into the book! I will get you a different chocolate next month and see what others I can find for you.

I am just under halfway through my book! It's very different to what I normally read!

Mariqui · 20/06/2016 14:24

A Novel Bunch it is, then!

Yes please, if everyone please can start their own threads with our group name and then our name, like the other group have done

e.g A Novel Bunch - Mariqui's book

or something like that! We can then comment once we have read the book.

What does everyone think about spoilers? Ideally you shouldn't be reading the thread until you've read the book, but if people think they will give into temptation and sneak a peek then perhaps best not?

OP posts:
Mariqui · 20/06/2016 22:02

Well done thread starters!

OP posts:
FlysInDreams · 20/06/2016 22:10

I've finished the book I was sent. I assume we start a thread on the book we sent out?

Mariqui · 20/06/2016 22:26

Yes that's right FlysinDreams

OP posts:
desperatelyseekingcaffeine · 20/06/2016 22:36

I would personally be happy for spoilers - looked at the other group's posts and they're very cryptic!

Mariqui · 25/06/2016 08:32

I'm off on holiday later today so will be taking your book on the plane acsec. Will hopefully get some unadulterated reading time!

How is everyone getting on with their book?

OP posts:
JennyWreny · 25/06/2016 08:57

Have a great holiday Mariqui.

I'm nearly half way through mine. Hope to be able to spend some time reading this weekend though.
