Sad i have no chocolate book for october ...... is it on the way Dysgu

LolaLadybird · 08/10/2011 20:06

Glad you enjoyed the choc AP. Think I can remember what it was so may well repeat in future Smile.

I have JohnWorf's book and have been slow at starting it but took it with me to the fracture clinic yesterday which gave me ample opportunity to get started! DH away this weekend so planning an early night tonight for more reading (so wild and crazy on a Saturday night!!)

AgentProvocateur · 12/10/2011 13:47

Aristocat, have you got your book yet? If not, let me know and I can send Dysgu an email in case she's forgotten.

OP posts:
aristocat · 12/10/2011 14:26

AP no book - hope Dysgu is OK

Itsjustafleshwound · 25/10/2011 20:57

I was just wondering what everyone thought if we halted the bookclub for the month of December??? That is to say, we do the November posting, but only post again on the 1st Jan??

It is purely selfish on my side - I have a frantic few weeks and I won't be in the UK for December, so I won't be able to do justice to the books.

What are your thoughts ??

LolaLadybird · 25/10/2011 22:17

Fine by me - I think December is a bit mad for everyone. I have plenty of books queuing on my shelves if I'm in need of a read (may miss the chocolate more than the book if we skip a month!) Wink Smile

Am intrigued about where you're off to ... {nosey}

Itsjustafleshwound · 25/10/2011 22:33

I am off to visit my parents in South Africa and have a hot Christmas .. v excited!

LolaLadybird · 25/10/2011 22:39

Sounds lovely - hope you have a fab time (bet you'll be having some interesting conversations in December about the logistics of FC and how he'll know where the DC's are!)

stickylittlefingers · 26/10/2011 09:44

I'm very Envy itsjusta. You'll have to explain to me this concept of being hot (may be linked to that yellow thing in the sky you sometimes see in books?). Missing a month for Christmas is fine by me (agree with lola I'll miss the chocolate - I'll have to make sure I have stores in!)

Arti hope the new book has arrived with you, and that all is going OK.

AgentProvocateur · 26/10/2011 09:57

I'm happy to skip December as well - it will give me a chance to read Jonathan Frantzen's Freedom which I've had beside my bed for months.

I am also Envy of itsjusta. We're already waking up to frost, and it looks liks it's going to be another bitterly cold winter here in Scotland. I've even bought some thermal underwear already, because it sold out everywhere last year.

aristocat have you got your book yet? I messaeged you.

Hope you're all well.

stickylittlefingers · 26/10/2011 17:17

Jeez, I've just copped on to what lola was on about with FC... I thought it was some in joke between her and Itsjusta, or perhaps some reference to S African politics I didn't get Blush. Off to find a few brain cells to rub together...

LolaLadybird · 26/10/2011 20:57

I am laughing at your post Sticky - sadly, S African politics way too high-brow for me, I am on much safer territory with Father Christmas!! Grin

LolaLadybird · 26/10/2011 20:59

How are we all doing with our books by the way? I just finished mine today, slower going than previous ones but still v enjoyable.

aristocat · 27/10/2011 20:32

hello ladies ..... back home from sunny Ibiza and thanks Dysgu my book was waiting for me, i shall start it asap and send it on as quick as i can (it is a whopper!!!)

sorry AP only just seen your message, i have the book and will start as soon as i have tackled my holiday washing

hope you are OK too arti and happy to skip December if thats what we are planning to do Smile

AgentProvocateur · 31/10/2011 14:59

How is everyone? I'm going to put on my head prefect voice and remind you all to post on the individual threads once you've read the book, please! Wink

Looks like everyone's happy to have December off (ie no posting on 1 Dec), which will give us plenty of time to read the books that will be arriving in the next couple of days.

I sent mine off today, slf, so you should get it tomorrow.

OP posts:
stickylittlefingers · 31/10/2011 16:38

Thanks AP I'll be looking out for it.

Very Envy of Aristocat being in sunny Ibiza. Good idea to find some sun/warmth before winter begins.

artifarti · 01/11/2011 11:11

I'm good thanks! Just moved house and 10 days without internet, can you imagine Grin.

I am happy about the December decision although I have finished that book and both books are pretty slim so will probably post them on together. Hope this doesn't ruin everything?!

stickylittlefingers · 01/11/2011 16:44

arti 10 whole days? How on earth did you cope? Grin Hope you're settling in OK.

I'll send on my November book as soon as I've read it, so you won't be bookless for too long. AP will keep us right, I'm sure! The new book didn't arrive today, which was extremely naughty of it, but I guess then it must arrive tomorrow. Time for me to finish The Savage Garden which I'm really enjoying.

AgentProvocateur · 02/11/2011 17:30

Thanks for the book and choc, lola - it arrived today. We now get our mail at about 4pm, and it feels all wrong, I tell ya!

Anyway, I have read the book already, so I was just going to post on JohnWorf's thread but I can't find it. Has there been one started?

OP posts:
Dysgu · 02/11/2011 19:08

I have posted my book to you aristocat - in fact it may already be with you depending if it got off the island quickly! a

I do need to post a comment but am not sure who sent the book in the first place - I am going to see if I can work it out but looking through the threads and counting backwards (note to self - list owner of book on arrival instead of thinking about it after it has been posted on.)

I too am in agreement not to post for December.

Hope all is well with everyone. Here we are trying to get used to the dark evenings since the clocks changed and are busy pretending that Christmas is still a long way off.

LolaLadybird · 02/11/2011 20:57

AP - glad you have the book. I couldn't find a thread for it either so have just started one now. I think you're right with your head prefect bit too, I really enjoy reading the individual threads, it would be a shame if they died off (altho' like Dysgu, I had also forgotten to make a note of the name and would have been stuck had AP not have mentioned whose it was in her post!)

I'll await my book from Aristo - altho' sounds like you may have your work cut out for you if it's a whopper. No rush tho' if we're not posting on until January.

aristocat · 02/11/2011 23:12

well yes Dysgu thank you your parcel did arrive today, has my postie eaten the chocolate or did you think i have eaten far too much choccie already didnt need any? Grin
there is no MN name in the book except for 'webster' however the authors initials are AB if that helps. i think it belongs to itsjusta

Lola your next one is indeed a whopper Blush but i am hoping to post it in the next few days .........

i also love the individual book threads, please keep posting on them ladies x

aristocat · 07/11/2011 09:59

Lola the book is on its way ...............

Itsjustafleshwound · 07/11/2011 16:57

AB is my book!!

Posted to johnworf today - hope it (and choc) arrives ...

Thanks again for agreeing re: Christmas - feel Sad to have complicated things ...

LolaLadybird · 08/11/2011 08:57

Book recieved Aristo - thank you.

Don't worry about complicating things Itsjusta - given the hefty tome Wink that arrived yesterday, I am pleased to have an extra month and December is always busy for everyone.
