Hey,
Can anyone share some advice?

I'm going through a bit of a confusing time just now and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Last AF 20.03.10
Positive home test 25.04.10
Faint Positive 26.04.10 (nurse)
negative urine test lab
faint positive (nurse) one week later
again negative from lab

finaly get appointment for doctor and get blood test - showing positive HCG 56
have further test week later 21.05.10 and dont get results back for nearly 4 weeks, 17.06.10. doctor gets me back in has done repeat hcg blood test and did urine test in surgery - again faint positive.

He called the bio chem who said it didn't look good and to get me to see the gyno clinic.

i have an appointment for this on 29th june to get scan, he thinks i've deffo had mc but thinks i have 'retained product' as they call it (how nice).

has anyone else had this experience and it'll be the Princess Royal Glasgow, has anyone had erpc there? was it ok? (I know daft question)

Thanks

Nicola

I haven't, but am bumping for you because I know some people have had MC in Glasgow.

Sorry for your situation.

My MC was supposedly being handled by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Hi Nicola,

Really sorry you're going through this.

I'm in Glasgow and had a MC last summer. I also had a long drawn out process of blood tests/repeat scans etc to confirm Anembryonic Pregnancy/blighted ovum, so I understand your upset and frustration. I was seen at Southern General EPAU for appts so am afraid that I don't have experience of the Royal, but the care received at EPAU was great.

I had ERPC at Gartnavel as there was sadly a very high demand for the procedure at the Southern at that point, and I can honestly say that it was so much better that I thought it was going to be.

The procedure itself was quick, staff were great and the physical recovery also fairly easy. Went in to the ward at lunchtime and was home by 6pm. Had a couple of days off work after and didn't really need the painkillers that were prescribed. Would imagine that the procedure in all Glasgow area hospitals will be fairly similar.

I read a lot of threads at the time and the general consensus seemed to be that ERPC was a lot quicker and more straightforward than most people imagined.

Sorry again for your experience. Hopefully you'll get some responses from folk with experience of the PR.
