How to improve egg quality?

Apologies as I have just cut and pasted this from the Conception board as I didn't know which would be better to post in... Hope nobody minds.

Having just lost a baby for the fourth time (at 15 weeks ) I am interested in how I can improve the quality of my eggs.
Two of the four losses were due to chromosomal abnormalities (other two too early to test), and I have read that these abnormalities are mainly due to poor quality eggs. DH has been tested and has super swimmers apparently, so I know it's not him!

Does anyone know what I can do to give ourselves a better chance next time?
I'm taking Pregnacare already, and plan on taking extra folic acid. Am also upping intake of water as much as I can.
Am so desperate for it to work again next time that I'll be willing to do almost anything!

Any idea's/advice would be great, thanks x

My cousin was told after 2nd bout of failed IVF that there was nothing she could do to improve egg quality -- which consultant said was poor due to her age (she was only 38, ffs).

I don't want you to feel bad, but I don't think it's right for you to get your hopes up falsely, either, and end up wasting time and energy on quack treatments.

This info might be helpful.

I know someone who had 4 or 5 m/c, 4 healthy children and one pregnancy terminated due to severe chromosome problems... what I mean by that example is, in spite of your experiences so far, there is still hope for good outcomes if you can brace yourself to keep trying.

hth.

That's really interesting bidibidi thank you. It mentions that eggs might be poorer quality if you suffer from endometriosis, which I do. The doctors told us that there was no link between the endo and our mc's, but maybe there is...
I think we're going to look into IVF and possibly having preimplantation genetic diagnosis as we've had so many failed attempts now that I don't know how many more times we can go through this. Am just desperate to give ds a sibling
Did your cousin have any luck in the end? Thanks for telling me about the lady you know, it does give me a bit of hope!

When I was going through IVF about a month ago I was told that eating lots of protein and drinking lots of Organic milk was good for egg Quality. There's a lot of very useful info on the fertility friends site, scroll down on this thread and therre's lots of good diet advice. I think sticking to Organic as much as you can is a good idea too.

Ooh great DF, thanks! I figure we've got a few months before trying again so will make up a new healthy weekly shopping list
How did the IVF go? I hope it was successful...

so far so good I am almost 7 weeks but still not ready to celebrate completely.

My IVF was so straightforward. I was surprised and extremely grateful as I know other people have a worse time of it.

While I wasn't puritanical about diet etc I did give up alcohol and try to eat the right things. I didn't go completely organic but made efforts where I could and ate a lot of eggs, beans and pulses.

hope that when you do try again you have success

That's great news DF, a very tentative congrats to you
That's me eating lots of eggs, beans and pulses then

Hope it continues to go well for you x

Neah, my cousin couldn't afford another failed bout of IVF so she adopted instead (2.5 years ago, now).
