Gynae Appt

I had a gynae appt today to look into the pelvic pain that I have been having for about 6 months. I had to have a scan and when I explained to the sonographer that I'd had two m/c she said "have you talked about what you will do if you can't have children". She was so matter of fact about it that I couldn't reply for a bit. This was after the consultant explained that two m/cs was very common and not to worry about it too much at this point. She then went on to tell me about a friend of hers who had been trying for over 10 years and she was younger than me. She didn't even offer me some tissue to clean myself up afterwards. Horrible woman. I wanted to punch her in the neck! Sorry, just had to rant for a moment.

He thinks its not a gynae problem at all, but a bowel problem! The pain is never in the same place just somewhere from the belly button down and all the way round. I was worried it was endo but he said it is very unlikely. He has advised me to keep a food diary to see if any patterns emerge. I might try cutting wheat out completly for a bit to see how that goes. The scan showed nothing to worry about and she could see that I had ov'd about a week ago so that was good. I do feel a bit foolish now but I know something isn't right. The consultant was very kind though and said he would see me if I haven't fallen pregnant by July but also with another m/c. It's not through the NHS but Benenden which is kind of like private but kind of not, a mutual society.

Hi Malotkins,
what makes him so sure it isn't endo?
It often doesn't show up on a scan.
Sorry about your m/cs.

Hi

I know what you mean. That crossed my mind too. Basically he ran through a list of questions and I answered no to most of them, not all of them though. My GP also said it is highly unlikely. The chap I saw today specialises in endo so I have to go with what he says I suppose.
