hCG levels not falling after miscarriage

Hi all. I miscarried two weeks ago at 9 wks, however my hcg levels are still very high (close to 2000)and taking a very long time to drop. Internal scans have shown my uterus to be empty but a slight swelling on my ovary. I am told there is a possibility that it is ectopic but since my levels are dropping, albeit very slowly, I am just being monitored and having blood tests every other day. Has any one had the same experience? What other reasons besides an ectopic preg could there be for levels taking so long to fall? This experience has been so frightening, any help would be very much appreciated.

Well that's good news. 100 isn't very much at all. Lets hope it's all over for you within the next few days.

Hi applepi. I'm going through exactly the same
Thing. I found out that I miscarried at 8 weeks on the 28th march at my 12 week scan. I been going back to the hospital every week for tests to see if my hcg levels
Had dropped. Last Tuesday the were the same as the week before(175). I now have to go for a internal scan tomorrow to see what's going on. I miscarried a little over 2 month ago.

Hi everyone. I had miscarrage at 5 weeks on 24th april and one week later my scan showed empty uterus( same day passed a very small tissue). They did hcg same day and 2 days later . It went down from 98 to 78. After a week it came down to 28. But this week bloods shows it went up to 30.
I am freaking out what's going on.. please advice.

Hi there Sneha 92,

Any update on your situation?! I am curious to know what has happened as it is thought that I miscarried around this time also (chemical pregnancy) and my first icy was 234. I had a repeat today and I’m hoping it’s starting to come down tomorrow if it is truly the case that I had a biochemical, but I am curious to see what has happened with you since your last post. Any information will be helpful, thank you!

Hi, I am currently miscarry for going 2 weeks now, My hcg is dropping so slow...it just drop from 146 to 96 in 4 days!
I think it because its ectopic. I had one before however and this one is hardly painful at all, no shoulder pain.
I did feel a good deal of pain 2 weeks ago on the right , not central as I would expect if a uterine miscarriage.
But now I feel hardly anything.
If its ectopic I dont want go try naturally again, but if its not I do.
How can I ever know 😔
