Im 24 and had a normal delivery for my 1st baby . Recently had a miscarriage at 21 weeks due to cervical incompetence . Its so scary and heartbreaking and i still havent recovered from it , i feel so nervous to get pregnant again , but really need to have other baby , which might reduce my pains , doctors suggest cervical stitch (cerclage) . is there anyone who dint get cerclage done inspite of being advised and hv had a normal delivery with bed rest itself ? plz .help , thanks .

I really wouldn't risk it. The cervix isn't strong enough to hold the weight of a mid-T baby and will open up to let the baby out. If you manage to get past mid-T then you won't go much further.

Are they sure you have IC? Has anything happened inbetween your first and second children to cause it? It would be odd (I think, I'm no expert) for you to have had a natural pregnancy if you have IC.

If you are unsure you can ask them to do internal scans during your next pregnancy. They scan the cervix weekly and measure it to make sure it isn't dilating or funneling, if it does start to they can then get the cerclage in quick.

I've had the scans done in both this pregnancy and my last one because I lost a baby mid-T due to being autoimmune and it's known for this disease to mask IC. I was told it wasn't really necessary with this pregnancy as I'd gotten so far on my own last time that I couldn't have IC.
