What questions should I be asking gp - m/c following ectopic pg

Hi all,
I've got a GP appt this afternoon after having been discharged by EPU as blood levels have dropped enough that they don't need to keep monitoring me. I was 5+4 when diagnosed with an EP, bled as usual when period expected so didn't know I was pg. I'm waiting for the m/c to start. I think there are a lot of things I need to ask the gp only my mind's all over the place and I know I'll forget something.
I think my main points are

  1. As I was taking Clomid at the time, should I stop?
  2. Am I likely to have another EP?
  3. When can I expect bleeding to start?
  4. When can we start ttc again?
  5. Will it affect IVF in the future (was taking Clomid between IVF attempts)
  6. When might I get cycles back? When will I ov? (same thing?) What else might I want to ask? Am all over the place, sorry if this post is a bit all over the place too.

Hi nomore,

Sorry to hear what you're going through, hope the appointment went ok.

Some GPs know very little about ectopics, and I'm surprised your EPU staff weren't able to help you with some of your questions. Could you book another appt for a week's time and write down anything you weren't answering in that time?

The ectopic pregnancy trust has a wealth of information and helpline details here.

Give yourself lots of time to ask as many questions as you need and process what has happened. Take care of yourself x

Thanks VKFAB The EPU would have answered my questions had I thought to ask them at the time, but I only thought of them all afterwards. GP was lovely and has signed me off work for the rest of the week and given me some tablets to help me sleep. He's also going to refer me for a lap and dye to have a look at my tubes.

Am so glad they were helpful (feel a bit bad for being so disparaging )

Hope you feel better soon x
