Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

post miscarriage, brown bleeding...any ideas?

I've had two miscarriages this year, one in March and the other in May. Both have been early missed miscarriages.

I've had one period since May, which was on 20th June. It was a normal period in every way. This month, around the time my period was due, I've had brown discharge, with about one day of reddish-brown bleeding. This is unusual for me.

Does anyone have any ideas what this might be? It has been ongoing now for over a week. Two days were heavy enough to use pads as a precaution but since then I've even felt comfortable enough to wear light linen trews with no protection. The bleed is very, very light.

Any ideas? Does this sound normal post-miscarriage, although the last period was normal?

Are you sure you are not pg again?

Very sorry about the mcs. I've had two in consecutive cycles too and it is shite.

Thanks, it has been a bit up and down. Good in the sense that I seemed to have become very fertile after years of fertility treatment resulting in DS, aged 21 months, but bad in very obvious ways.

I've spent a fortune on pg tests this last week as it has been an age since my last period. Tests all negative, so I've ruled out pregnancy. My cycles are freakishly long, so who knows? I am very tired and all the other things that support the idea of a pregnancy, but no positive tests.

Who knows. I've been very bloated this month and have been googling all sorts of weird things to try and work out what is going on. Maybe I need to visit the GP.

Ditto what Berolina says...

Also to add that, since I had an early MC back in March my periods have been a bit crazy. Really, really heavy one month then barely there the next and then back to heavy again. It's only this month that I've felt they're a bit more "normal".

I think that if you're any doubt you should see your GP to be on the safe side.

berolina · 28/07/2008 17:19

I think I would see the GP, probably. I haven't experienced anything like this post-mc. If your cycles are long, though, could it be mid-cycle bleeding? - whih of course needs looking at. Are you in any pain? Did you have ERPCs after the mcs?

Sympathies. Mc is bad enough without stretching its long shadow like this.

That's helpful to know RipMacWInkle. I'd rather suspect that it is related to the last few months rather than get my hopes up again.

I did wonder about an implantation bleed but I would have thought that I'd have a positive test by now, as it has been 36 days since the first day of my last period.

Just wondered what to expect, I guess. I haven't really had any periods since DS was born so the last few months are as regular as I've ever been.

Sorry to hear about your own experiences berolina and RipMacWinkle. It is shite, isn't it?

I've had 6 m/c's and have to say that brown bleeding is very common. It is most likely your womb still clearing out stuff, old blood mainly and it can take quite a while.
I had the brown stuff stage go one for quite a while. Sometimes days would go by with nothing at all then all of a sudden more brown stuff. hth

llareggub · 28/07/2008 17:24

I have had cramps, some quite painful. I haven't had any treatment regarding the missed mc. I had scans both times and was sent home to wait for the bleed. I've never had mid-cycle bleeding before now, so who knows?

I'll make an appointment to see one of the female docs at the surgery to see what they say.

yes and it also took months sometimes for periods to get back to normal with lots of stop start bleeding.

llareggub · 28/07/2008 17:25

Goodness, I am sorry to hear that kittywise. Thank you so much for sharing that with me, it is really helpful and just a little bit reassuring to know.

That's ok, it's just one of those things

llareggub · 28/07/2008 19:44

Even so...

Thanks everyone, much appreciated.
