I’m 41, we were ttc for 9 months, finally got pregnant, we were so delighted. Found out yesterday we are having a miscarriage, just waiting for bleeding to start. Feeling so devastated and deflated.

anyone any positive stories of a successful pregnancy in 40s after a miscarriage as I feel so hopeless at the moment

I had a miscarriage aged 42, at 44 I had a healthy baby boy. I’m sorry for what you’re going through, it is truly horrible but there is hope.

My friend had years of this and then a baby at 45

I’m so so sorry to hear of your loss.

I miscarried in April and fell pregnant again very next cycle, time will tell if it’s a positive story but I didn’t want to read and run as I remember you from other threads xx

@BTsrule @ChasingRainbow5 @Daisypod @Unexpectedlysinglemum thanks so much for the hope. I started bleeding shortly after I posted this and strangely enough felt kind of relieved and hopeful that it could be the first day of a new pregnancy if we got pregnant again this next cycle 🤞🏽 just the thoughts of being back ttc is hard.
ovulation could be a little of over the place I assume so will prob start testing it in a few days ❤️

thanks again for the words of encouragement & hope x

Yes, me. Miscarriage at 40, got pregnant again immediately after and had healthy DS at 41. Don’t give up hope 🍀

So sorry to hear of your loss. I don’t have a story of hope I’m afraid, but after 3 losses and now age 43, if I had a time machine I would get tested after my first miscarriage for nutrient deficiencies. Vitamin D, folate, iron (ferritin) and B12 being the main ones. I requested them via my GP without an appointment. I’ve recently found out that my iron was very low and B12 borderline, both of which can be factors in pregnancy loss. The losses may well have been purely age related, I’ll never know, but I wish I’d known to optimise my health and at 41, you still have time. Sending you a big hug and wishing you so much luck x

@Fletchasketch so sorry for ur losses, it is just heart breaking when it’s something u want so badly❤️
I got all these checked in Sept, all came back good thank god but I might just get them done again now. I’ve been taking prenatal since then also. I know it’s prob just age but it’s tough going. I am going to ask gp for egg quality/quantity bloods to be done if possible.
