MMC at 8+3 don’t know what happens now

I had a scan on Saturday at 8+1, baby measured 8+3 but no heartbeat. I was sort of expecting it as something didn’t feel right but equally struggling with how big the measurements were and whether than means the heartbeat stopped very recently.
I have an EPU appointment but not until tomorrow, and I’m terrified of naturally miscarrying in the meantime.
I just wondered if anyone could share the general process with me once we have an appointment? I was told on Saturday they’d probably see me next day and if I wanted management book it in for the day after but that’s clearly not the case.

thank you and sorry for anyone who’s gone through this, I just feel a bit all over the place.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I've had 2 MM previously. Both of mine they think heartbeat didn't start at all (around 6-7 weeeks) but my body didn't realise. Both miscarried around 10 weeks.

For my local EPU, they won't start a medical management until you have had 2 scans at least 10 days apart to confirm the miscarriage. As hard as it is, they have to be sure and double check. Also I sometimes thought maybe it was to allow your body time to understand what has happened as well.
Once I had the second scan it was extremely quick. I chose medical management with both but one I miscarried naturally the morning of the appointment, the second I went through medical management at home. 2nd scan day 1, I then went in day 2 for my tablets, took them at home early morning of day 3.

My experience is don't be worried about it naturally happening. For me that was the least traumatic and painful option. It's hard not knowing when it will happen but there was something therapeutic about going through it all naturally.
The medically management process was hugely traumatic for me. Painful and I ended up in A&E 3 days later as I was still in pain. Nothing was wrong but my body just didn't cope well with it.
