Recurrent miscarriage and TTC

Hi all,

I’ve been under the recurrent miscarriage unit for the past year after suffering 1 missed (at 11weeks), 2 chemical and 1 early miscarriage.
All my levels and tests are normal, next step if I have 5 miscarriages will be to test chromosomes and I’ve been told I could also try steroids to see if this will help my NK cells although these aren’t a massive concern.
Ive never tried progesterone but now have it. I’ve been told to take it when I get a positive test for 12 weeks. But I’m about to ovulate and not sure whether to take it instead post ovulation?
what’s everyone’s thoughts? My cycles are longer as I ovulate day 18/19 as I have borderline PCOS.

wondered if anyone has any experience or if anyone knows what’s better to do?

Hi have you had your nk cells tested? Were they elevated? Some nhs staff don’t believe in reproductive immunology and underplay the immune system as a cause for recurrent miscarriages. Nk cells play a massive role. I had 4 recurrent miscarriage after two normal pregnancies. My nk cells were elevated and my next pregnancy with steroids and intralipids was successful. Your immune system plays a massive role in early stage of pregnancy. I’d advise getting your levels tested. Another thing to look into is your microbiome to make sure you don’t have chronic endometritis ( not endometriosis). If your levels were high I’d advise seeing a private obstetrician who does reproductive immunology and there is great facebook group also

Thanks @sd8809
I had a Hysteroscopy where a biopsy was taken and my NK cells came making up to 5% of the stromal cells - not sure what that means but he didn’t seem overly concerned and said I could try steroids. Obviously side effects come with that for both me and baby. Were you worried about that?
I’ve considered going private but I was being treated on the NHS so I was seeing how that went before needing to spend money.

You have uterine nk cells and also peripheral nk cells in your blood. Peripheral nk cells are more commonly elevated and treated with steroids. No I was not worried about steroids it’s for a very short period of time you take them for usually just first trimester and I was willing to take the risk for the chance of a successful pregnancy. Without them I say I would have my fourth baby.
