I had a d&c removal of a partial molar pregnancy and fetus that was 8 weeks ans 3 days. I ended uo hemorrhaging losing 3L of blood and nearly died.
So the thought if having to maybe have another surgery is STRESSING ME OUT.

I'll be 3 weeks come Monday, 4 days. And if I have a positive test, I have to ring the hospital back.
For some reason my gut is telling me something isn't right. So I took a test this morning, clear blue digital and positive.
So I went and bought a cheap normal test and took it just under 2 hours after the first test. And the result was blazing positive.
I know it hasn't been 3 weeks yet. Just shy, but for it to be THIS positive? My anxiety is having a field day.

Am so sorry to hear @Shan0521 did they talk to you about Hcg levels in a molar pregnancy? My understanding is there’s abnormally high levels of hcg in a molar pregnancy so because those levels start off much higher than a typical pregnancy, it’s going to take a significant amount of time for them to leave your system.
But do call the unit for reassurance. Unmumsnetty hugs to you.

Also I’m sure home tests are really sensitive so would definitely show any slight hcg up? Happy to be corrected by those who will be more knowledgeable

It can take weeks to return to negative, i once had to wait 8 weeks to for it go to negative.

Yeah they ran through with me of my levels, when I was thought to be pregnant my levels were in range of normal for that week.
They did say they were going down after the surgery, I think my anxiety is chasing me to overthink because of how traumatic this whole experience was for me, I just want it to be over.
I just expected the test to not be so positive, at least fainter. It just worries me all of it.

Let the hospital know you still have strong positive and they should do a scan to make sure you do not have retained products to be safe.

Shan0521 · 11/02/2026 09:45

So I rang the hospital on 3 week mark, still strong positive.
I had an internal scan thay showed significant bleeding and what they think is an invasive molar.
But because I haven’t had results back from sheffield regarding if it was definitely a partial molar they held back on starting chemotherapy.
It's all a bot crazy.
My.bleeding gushes are irregular and seem to be getting heavier every time it happens. Which the hospital know about. Now I have to wait until sheffield get hold of me, hoping not a long wait as my local hospital had rang to push for diagnosis.

Hey @Shan0521 so sorry you’ve going through this. I tested positive for around 11 weeks after my partial molar, and then a few weeks after that until negative on blood tests. I’m sorry about the bleeding, so I hope you hear back soon. It took about 4 weeks from d&c to hear from the hospital that it was a partial molar, and I can’t remember how long after that I heard from Sheffield but it wasn’t long at all

I have been registered to sheffield as of today and they are sending me a form to fill and a urine pot to send back a sample, they said given the email my local hospital has sent them, with the results of the scan they gave me and they diagnosed me with persistent trophoblastic disease.
Sheffield know this now and have pushed it forward for me to get treatment.
It's so overwhelming how a pregnancy can turn to this. My emotions are all over the place.

I’m really sorry @Shan0521 Having a miscarriage is bad enough without then having to deal with it being molar. You’re under the right people now. All the staff I dealt with at Sheffield were really lovely. I hope they get treatment moving for you really soon
