I did, no medical input but from what I read it couldn’t hurt.

I didn’t miscarry that pregnancy, but I have no idea whether that’s related.

I did.
I still miscarried again while on it.
Torrential blood loss probably in part due to the asprin.

@Slothey Thank you . Do you remember when did you start taking ? Should I wait till positive test or I can start earlier ?

I think it really depends on the cause of your miscarriage. So the various testing will throw out if it is a clotting issue.

My understanding is that the asprin affects clotting.
My knowledge is very limited though.

I just know that I bled torrentially and that took me many many months to recover my blood loss which impacted my ttc again as low HB/iron storage/levels is not compatible with a healthy pregnancy.
It’s a vicious cycle with a lot to consider.
It’s not just a case of taking a drug and hoping for the best.
Do your research and speak to a Dr for guidance.

What is baby aspirin? I thought kids can’t take aspirin?

rainbow198501 · 23/11/2025 12:19

@Pottersciderbar82 I did take it as I had low Papp-a with my son so had to take wipe pregnancy from 12 weeks to 36 weeks. I just read that can help won’t harm so thought I will try. In UK they won’t see me till around 9weeks so can’t get much advice from anyone. Thank you for your reply

I understand, it is so frustrating (I’m in the U.K. too)
There is little advice because I think they just don’t know enough.
There’s no investment into miscarriage research, I suppose it’s not seen as priority whereas cancer, genetic etc are.

I was advised to take progesterone, low dose asprin, high dose folic acid once I conceived by the reoccurring miscarriage clinic Drs.
I was told very matter of fact that there is little evidence to support the use of any of these drugs when the cause of multiple miscarriages is unknown but it “might” help.
I was desperate (7 miscarriages under my belt) so was willing to try everything.. anything. I still miscarried while taking all of the above.

As I said, the uncontrollable bleeding was a huge risk I weighed up when taking a blood thinner. The consequences of which stayed with me for many many months afterwards.

All the very best, it’s so difficult and desperately sad, I just kept going until I couldn’t. I hope you get your baby in the end x 🌷

In 2001 I was diagnosed as anti phospholipid positive which meant that my blood was clotting in the placenta and had caused three miscarriages. I was told I would be prescribed Fragmin injections and baby aspirin tablets as soon as a pregnancy was confirmed by ultrasound at six weeks. Instead I decided to take the baby aspirin from the possible day of conception. I don’t know whether the extra weeks of aspirin make any difference but the result is now 6’2” and 23 years old, so never give up hope.
