Worried about having a Missed Miscarriage

Hi all, just looking for anyone who has been through something similar, as I am incredibly anxious.

I am currently pregnant for the first time, around 7 weeks. I found out around 4 weeks, 1 day. Around 10 days after testing positive, I had some slight spotting on and off for roughly 24 hours. This was like a pink discharge. I was instructed to go and get my blood taken to check HCG levels. I then had bloods done, and my HCG levels came back around 7300, which was spot on for where I was measuring (almost 6 weeks at this point).

I then had more blood taken in 48 hours. My HCG levels rose by 28% up to 9400. My local Early Pregnancy Unit then contacted me, concerned that my levels had not doubled (although I have since read online that HCG levels rise more slowly when over 6000). Anyway, they got me in for an ultrasound the next day to just check everything ok.

At this point, from my own calculations (date of last period), I believed I was roughly 6 weeks and 2 days. They actually measured me 5 weeks and 4 days at that point. I had a transvaginal ultrasound, and a Gestational sac and Yolk Sac were found. They also saw the start of an embryo, but said it was too early to detect a heartbeat.

They scheduled me another ultrasound in 2 weeks time (this Wednesday!). From their dating, I am now 7 weeks 1 day, so I will be more towards the 8-week mark when next scanned.

I am so anxious for this scan and keep worrying that no heartbeat will be found. My symptoms seem to be worsening (fatigue, nausea, sore boobs), but I have seen so many women speaking of Missed Miscarriage with similar scenarios to me, and it's driving me insane.

I'm just wondering if anyone had a similar series of events with a positive outcome? Basically, I'm just looking for some reassurance.

Thanks so much in advance x

Im so sorry for the stress you are going through

This is going to sound brutal but no words are going to reassure you (speaking from experience) the only thing that will is that scan. You are so close and you’ve done so well to get through the last (almost) two weeks , wishing you all the luck for a good outcome 🙏

You might not get the reassurance you need from this board, as most women on here have had miscarriages. Unfortunately nothing can ease the stress of waiting on a scan
