I have had three healthy pregnancys prior to meeting my husband. Weve started trying since March and weve tracked etc In that space of time Ive fallen pregnant three times and lost all before 6 weeks. Todays been the third time and Im losing hope. Sperm and blood tests are all normal. Im taking all the supplements people have recommended to me, I can get pregnant I just cant keep it. Im so upset and want to give up from the heartache. My partner has no kids. Weve just lost hope now

So sorry for your losses. I was in a similar situation and had a child from my previous marriage.

After 3 miscarriages you should be offered a consultant's appointment to try to ascertain what may be happening. I was pregnant again by the time I met with mine and he gave me weekly scans so he could see what might be happening if anything did. Fortunately we carried to term and had my second child. Perhaps ask your GP fkr a referral?

Yeah we have a referral but waiting list is a year over here

Im so sorry for your losses OP, wow that is an extremely long waiting list. When you say you’ve tried supplements- can I ask which ones?x

My friend had secondary infertility and suffered multiple miscarriages. The Dr eventually prescribed her aspirin to take during her next pregnancy, which was successful.

I'm obviously not a medical professional and have no idea about doses or anything. But might be worth asking about?

i only ask because I have a MTHFR gene mutation and folic acid as actually bad for us with this mutation and can contribute to recurrent miscarriage. Instead you could take the active form which is methyl folate? It’s more expensive but folic acid if you did have the same mutation can cause a build up of homocysteine which is really bad for us!

up to 40% of the population have this gene mutation so it’s more common than we think!

How did you find out you have that gene mutation?
I have had full bloodwork done twice and nothing of concern jumped out but with two MCs I haven’t had any genetic testing done on the pregnancies as it didn’t qualify.

Have you ever done any of those ancestry/23 and me/my heritage DNA tests? I found out via this. You can downloaded your genetic data and input it into a website called genetic genie and it’ll show you what gene mutations you have. It’s really interesting and can tell you lots!

if you haven’t had one done, theyre a fairly inexpensive and fast route to finding this information out so I would definitely recommend it.

even if you didn’t want to have testing done, just take methyl folate instead of folic acid as a precaution it won’t harm you at all- it’s just the broken down form of B9. Ao your body will use it the same way!

I have actually had a genetic overview on myheritage when I did my test and nothing popped up but thats good advise Ill swap over from folic acid

I don’t think it just pops up, you have to download their data from your sample and then upload that into another website. If you can find the link to download your data, just go onto genetic genie and upload it into the methylation panel. From there it’ll give you a download and it’s a bit confusing to understand but you can input it into chat for a simple explanation of which gene mutations you have and what that means for you. Best of luck x x
