4th missed miscarriage

I found out yesterday that I’ve had my fourth missed miscarriage in 2 years. I was on blood thinners, aspirin & progesterone. Once the miscarriage happens it will be sent off for genetic testing. The last one was genetically normal. I’m under Tommys, but nothing major is flagging on tests. I’m looking at going private in a couple of months. Does anyone have any advice on where to start looking into where to go for private testing?

oh @Figtree11 I am so very sad to hear this, just horrible news.

I have also had missed miscarriages, two, which stopped developing at 7-8 weeks. I found some information on here relating to NK cells and listened to some really interesting podcasts and it sounded like I might have the profile of someone with reproductive immunological issues based on the gestation and my own health profile.

I'm currently under the care of the CRP clinic in Epsom with Dr Shehata. He also has an NHS clinic in Epsom which you can be referred to, but I think the wait is over six months. If this is an avenue you decide to explore it may be worth seeing which other doctors do the testing. Fertilysis and Plan Your Baby do it virtually and I believe it's a bit cheaper with them. You may find this podacast episode helpful, there are more, but I don't want to bombard you at this point. https://hannahpearn.com/2025/06/06/101-miscarriage-and-your-immune-system-with-dr-shehata/

There are a lot of doctors who do not believe in reproductive immunology so you may find Tommy's/the NHS are quite dismissive of it. It may well not be something that is impacting you, but I know when I had my miscarriages, all I wanted was answers, so I do hope you find this potential avenue a helpful suggestion.

Sending you the biggest hug, useless as it is, I hope you are being well looked after and that you can get some answers as quickly as possible.

Thank you @Fletchasketch I was half expecting this to happen again, but obviously still had hope as I was on different medication this time. Thank you for the info, it’s really useful. I have been looking into nk cells. And also things like Emma Alice tests for any endometrium issues. I feel desperate to start looking into more reasons, but think I need to wait for genetic test to come back & consultation first before I then start more investigations so I’ve got all the facts first. Time just keeps ticking on & getting older

I know, it's just so overwhelming with the breadth and range of tests out there that you can do. Regarding the genetic testing, I had the same concern and spoke to the doctor at the miscarriage clinic about this. He said that whilst most individual miscarriages are down to chromosomal issues, it's unlikely with two and yet more unlikely the more you have. If you have any more questions on the immune issues or just want some support, the NK Cells pred thread is a very knowledgable and kind bunch. I hope you're doing okay, considering and sending you lots of luck for the next steps.

Thank you @Fletchasketch i know my second MC was a partial molar which is meant to be very random/rare occurrence & the 3rd was normal, so I’m interested to know what this one will be. It’s been sent off now so got a 8-12 week wait. But in the new year my plan is to contact a private clinic & get the ball rolling with testing. Thank you for the recommendation of the thread, I’ll definitely dip in once I start the process

@Figtree11 that's really good that you have a plan. I know it made me feel loads better when I knew what the next steps were and the timelines. I hope you get your answers soon and I'm crossing my fingers that 2026 will be your year. All the best x
