Think I’m having a chemical after mc in June

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in June. Found out I was pregnant on Wednesday this past week and have had sore boobs and insane tiredness. Fast forward to last night I had brown tinged discharge which is how my previous mc started. I’ve had mild cramps all night but my sore boobs have completely disappeared so I think I’m having a chemical pregnancy? I should be 4+4 today

I’ve not had any bleeding but the cramps are like typical period cramps. I suppose my question is right now what do I do as it’s so early - will I likely start to bleed and then that’s it and it’s a case of waiting for my next period?

also as I’ve had a mc and now chemical is there actually any hope for me to have a successful pregancy? I’m truly blessed to have a healthy 5 year old so I know that previously ive had a straightforward pregnancy. I’m 35 so maybe it’s my age? Does anyone have advice on where I can go to seek investigations?

thanks and hope someone has advice or positive stories as I’m feeling pretty lost right now

Hi lovely if AF doesn’t arrive today I would get referred to your local EPU tomorrow

As you've had a previous miscarriage If they scan and see pregnancy is in the right place they can prescribe progesterone for the bleeding - unfortunately this may not change outcome but can in some cases

so sorry you are going through this it must be so stressful. If this isn’t a positive outcome speak to GP about options for investigations

Thank you so much for replying it’s such a lonely place to be! I did actually call the EPU for advice and have a scan booked in next week so at least I will know for sure either way and hopefully get some advice on next steps. Thanks so much for replying ❤

Hey, I'm really sorry you're going through this stress right now pregnancy after loss is so difficult on the head😌 i experienced 3 chemicals in a row, one went as far as 6 weeks. The epu reffered me to the early pregnancy loss clinic in cumh (ireland) and I knew it'd be too long to hear from them so I booked a consultation with fergus mccarthy a consultant in the hospital,it took one appt and cost me 150 euro. We spoke about my history and he prescribed me 400mg of progestrone pessaries to take morning and night as soon as I get a positive test and then 2 75mg tablets of aspirin to take twice a day. This worked for me and I'm not 36 weeks pregnant and I'm really happy to have made that appt it gave me peace of mind knowing there was at least something I could try when a positive test came rolling around. You can also contact your GP as soon as you've a positive test to book you in with the EPU for a reassurance scan tho they tend to not do this until 7/8 weeks unless in case of ectopic symptoms etc. I really really hope this all works out for you, keep us posted ❤️❤️
