Antiphospholipid Syndrome and recurrent loss, experiences?

I am currently going through my 6th pregnancy loss - a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. I’ve had 3 years of recurrent loss and was diagnosed with APS last year, before that I had 2 early miscarriages and 2 ectopics. I also have an 11 year old DC from a previous relationship, her pregnancy was smooth with no issues whatsoever.

I conceived shortly after my APS diagnosis and miscarried at 6 weeks, now I have miscarried again despite being on 150mg Aspirin, 40ml Heparin and Cyclogest 800mg per day.

I have an appointment with my recurrent miscarriage consultant in a few weeks time but was just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience despite being on medication? Is this just a trial and error situation? I am wondering if a higher dose of medication worked? Feeling pretty hopeless as this pregnancy seemed to be progressing really well until we were told there was no heartbeat at a scan. I am 35 and feeling a bit like time isn’t on my side.

I'm sorry for your loss. 😔

Aspirin and Heparin really improve the odds - I think from my recall of Leslie Regan's book (have you read it? It has a whole chapter on APA) they go from 10% chance of successful pregnancy to 90%? But there is still sadly a chance of miscarriage, either because of the APA or because of something else. Leslie Regan says in these situations genetic testing of the embryo is important to try and establish if there was a genetic cause (i.e. "bad luck"). Appreciate that may not be possible this time but something to bear in mind.

But just to say I know the clock feels like it's ticking but you have plenty of time. I'm 39, started trying at 35 and now pregnant with (hopefully) kid 2, having had five pregnancies in total. It's a tough road and longer for some than others, but being diagnosed with APA and getting treatment is really positive and 🤞 next time is your rainbow.

Thank you for your kind response, I will look into Leslie Regan.
