Time off for miscarriage

I started having a miscarriage yesterday (Monday) at 8+2 weeks and was booked into EPAU this morning (Tuesday) so had to tell my manager at work as I had the Monday afternoon and Tuesday off. I’ve got to go back on Thursday morning for another set of bloods, so my question is do you think I should take the week off (I don’t work a Friday anyway), or should I work Wednesday & then Thursday afternoon? I don’t know what’s normal or expected.. I’ve got cramping again today but I’m pretty sure I’ve fully miscarried now as the blood is subsiding

Take the week off, allow yourself some time to recover physically and process what has happened.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

💐 So sorry for your loss.

This week and next, at the very least.
Take care.

Get the EPAU to sign you off for a couple of weeks if you need it and take some time to process.

Really sorry for your loss Flowers

Take at least 2 weeks @TTCno1in23 whatever you need to recover. One of my bosses had a mc and took nearly 3 months off. No one batted an eyelid. It’s your recovery.

Take the week off lovely, you think you'll be fine but it can take a little while to fully miscarriage and you need time to recover xx

@TTCno1in23 I’m so sorry for your loss. I took a month off with mine due to some complications, take as long as you need and make sure you put yourself first, work can wait, sending you hugs xx

Thank you for all being so lovely, I’ve told my manager that I’ll be back on Monday and she said to just let her know if I feel any differently and want anymore time off when it comes round so I think I’ve definitely done the right thing! X

Hey I’m so sorry for your loss. I can only speak for myself but I had 4 weeks off work as whilst I recovered physically super quickly, it all sank in a couple of weeks later and I definitely needed that time. You are just a number at work, it can wait. Look after yourself xx

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a MMC at 12 weeks. I ended up off work for 4 weeks - partly because sure it took 3 weeks for the miscarriage to be confirmed as completed, partly because when I went in to see the doctor and he asked me how I was I burst into tears - he said until I could answer that question without doing that, I shouldn’t be anywhere near work.

take as much time as you need to physically and mentally recover.

It's up to you.
I took a few days off with my first miscarriage butworked through my second miscarriage. The first miscarriage was out of the blue but the second miscarriage I had had 3 scans over the course of 3 weeks showing the pregnancy was unlikely to continue. I was off sick for hyperemesis for 4 weeks during this time and I had the time to process the loss before losing the pregnancy and felt ok to be in work but gave my manager the heads up that I might need further medical appointments.
