Hi, I hope it’s ok to post. I had my fallopian tube removed due to an ectopic recently and I’m feeling worried about the future. No children and really want them, so feeling really upset and fearful. Please can anyone share some stories of hope? I am trying to remain hopeful but so scared to ttc again. Thank you xx

My friend had her daughter with 1 tube, you will be fine. Eat lots of green peas, carrots and beets till you feel good. I was having an ovarian torsion (twisting of ovaries) and they wanted to do surgery on me, but I declined and ate those. God healed my ovary and I conceived and had a healthy baby girl. Drink lots of water!

Not me personally, but my aunt had the same, already had a child so just thought oh maybe just the one for us, so kind of stopped trying, bur then surprise, second child out of the blue no issues with pregnancy. There’s so many positive stories out there which I hope bring you lots of comfort and hope for the future.
Wishing you so much luck, take care xx

Hey, I've conceived 5 times since having a tube removed due to an ectopic rupture 19 years ago so definitely possible that everything will be fine. Look after yourself x

I conceived twice after my tube was removed due to an ectopic. They can tell from early pregnancy scans which side you have ovulated from - my first successful pregnancy, then my ectopic, then a miscarriage and then my second successful pregnancy all came from the same ovary. So if you're worried your chance of conceiving is reduced by half it's not, in fact the nurse I saw after my surgery said it's much less than 50% and probably more like 20% as the other tube can reach round as on the inside our uterus, tubes and ovaries aren't as they are in diagrams, it's more bundled up if that makes sense.

I had both my DC with only one tube.
First ectopic I lost a tube, then had DC1, then 2nd ectopic, they saved the tube, but advised IVF as remaining tube damaged.
IVF didn’t work, but got pregnant naturally a few months later.
My situation is not uncommon either.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been there too. My surgeon told me that fallopian tubes aren’t entirely “attached” to the ovary and can reach around and grab eggs from the other ovary. Not every time, but the impact was likely to be more like I kept 90% of my fertility rather than just 50%. The female body really is incredible. We went on to have another after, and the other stories above show that it does happen. Wishing you the best of luck x

All my 3 friends who have one tube (1 was ectopic/2 had ovarian cysts) have successfully had 2 or more children no problem whatsoever for them.

Hi, sorry to jump on this thread, how long did you all wait to ttc again?

Trinity69 · 10/02/2025 18:34

Lost a tube to an ectopic around 2001 ish when I was 21. At 28 I gave birth to my son and at 31 had my daughter. All is not lost, stay healthy and it’ll happen in time.

Meadowfinch · 10/02/2025 18:37

I lost an ovary & tube in my early thirties, but had no difficulty conceiving ds at all.

Losing one tube shouldn't prevent you from conceiving OP. Don't feel too sad.

SCHSMum · 10/02/2025 18:39

I was in the same situation 15 years ago. DCs are now 14 & 12 x

3 months post-ectopic and tube removal, and got pregnant with DC1 immediately. DC2 also conceived within a couple of months of trying. We were very lucky.

Great thanks for your reply! I concieved my daughter from my right tube, it was my left that was ruptured so hoping I will be able to concieve again soon
