Periods after surgical miscarriage

After having my second surgery this year for a miscarriage - last one 8 weeks ago. The second time I was bleeding on & off for a while. Both my periods have been super light since and second me barely there. Has anyone else experienced this? They were very regular & normal before this and I'm worried I won't be able to conceive again as we tried when I thought I was ovulating again and no success (I normally fall really quickly) I've been looking up why and ashermans syndrome comes up, which I'm worried I now have that - especially with recurrent miscarriages too and had 2 surgical removals this year.
If anyone else has experienced this would you mind sharing, thanks xx

Hey,

Firstly, I’m so sorry for your loss :( they say give it 3 cycles to see what your cycles are like. Is the blood red or more of brown colour? Are they shorter in days too? Browny can be more associated with Asherman as it takes longer for the blood to travel to exit. Shorter cycles are also associate eg. Going from 5 to 2 ways

whilst I didn’t have surgery, I had rpoc for a very long time and medical treatment x2, my periods were very light afterwards and I was convinced I had AS. I was booked in for an investigation but fell pregnant. People kept saying, ur periods can change after miscarriage which in my case was true. See how things are next month, it’s not always the worst scenario. I wish you all the luck hun xx

Thank you for your message, when your going through this you can feel so alone and so much information (especially if your like me and google everything!)
I would say it was brown & pink? Im having all the symptoms of my period - boobs hurt & cramps but very light (almost just as I wipe) when I had the surgery earlier in the year my periods came back normal but I was further along the second time? It's the 8th week but I wanted to try again but worried something is wrong. I rang the genealogy clinic and I'm on the list but she said it was a year wait :-( I looked at clinic in London and it's super expensive.
thank you xx

Yes, I remember the feeling well :( but just know, you really aren’t alone, so many women are dealing with this. If you are on fb, join the group Asherman Syndrome Awareness. There is plenty of women who are going through or been through, who are always so helpful, it really is a lovely informative group. They can also recommend any specialists.

you could try get an ultrasound done, whilst it won’t diagnose, it can give u an idea of thickness of lining. If it’s helpful, I was going to see dr pickergill in Manchester. He was a really lovely sympathetic man.. wasn’t too expensive compared to others, he was 1,500 to do a non op hysteroscopy (he didn’t think I had it but was willing to do for my peace of mind)

but I would definitely join that fb group in the meantime, take care and be kind to yourself. Xx
