Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation please and can offer some advice?

I have PCOS which come with irregular periods and unpredictable ovulation, my last period was the 4th of August, and I could’ve conceived either on 18th or 20th of August or 6th or 7th of September. I took a pregnancy test on the 16th of September which was positive, we ended up booking an early scan as we thought we were around 6-7 weeks along. When we went for this scan we were told by the sonographer that we are only around 3-4 weeks. I went on to do a HCG levels test with the following results:

23rd September - 1409
26th September - 2695
30th September - 5174

With the last result, there wasn’t much of an increase as it should so I contacted the EPU to find out what is happening. I was told that it is possible that I am having a miscarriage. I booked a private scan for that night to see what was going on, the sonographer looked for around a minute and diagnosed me with a MMC at 5 weeks 4 days as she said there was no embryo. The report stated that my gestational sac was 9.8mm with a yolk sac but no embryo. We were referred to the hospital to proceed with a termination. We have been absolutely heartbroken as I have been told I am potentially infertile with no help or advice on what to do. We are currently waiting for an appointment at the EPU to discuss procedure for termination.

however, I’ve been reading about other people’s experiences of not seeing a fetal pole early in the pregnancy but I’m not even sure yet. I’ve had no bleeding and tender breasts and some nausea but no sickness.

thank you in advance 😣

This happened to a friend of a friend of mine. She was a nurse and she just sort of shrugged her shoulders and said "no biggie, try again next month". I realise it's probably not that simple at all, but I was really struck at the time by her having that attitude.

Well done for getting nearly pregnant. That seems like a really positive thing.

Sorry I don't know if I'm saying dumb things, but it sounds hard and I wanted to say something encouraging.

I really appreciate the kind words! We are still young and got pregnant by accident so we are hoping that it happens for us soon.
