Private surgical management- consult recommendation

Hello,

can anyone recommend a dr who can perform surgical management of missed miscarriage privately in London?
Ive been travelling and should be 9 weeks pregnant but an early scan at 8 weeks showed empty sac measuring 6 weeks, no heartbeat. I assumed it would miscarry naturally in the 3 weeks before I return to the uk but still no signs. So now I want to schedule in an mva for as soon as I’m home and am nervous about nhs having long wait. my health insurance will cover the scan, surgery and follow up but it’s really confusing trying to find a gynaecologist who does it privately. Would be grateful for a recommendation.
Thank you x

Hey, you won’t have to wait to have this done on the nhs, they are always keen to get you in as soon as possible. From experience I was in the following day after finding out I’d miscarried x

So sorry to hear about your loss OP.
Agree with @Chunk23 though, you won't wait long on the NHS. I had a MMC in 2022...didn't go down the surgery route as I chose medical management.
Tuesday - 12 week scan showed it was a MMC, was referred to EPU. EPU called and asked us to come in the following day to confirm and discuss options
Wednesday - EPU scanned and confirmed MMC and discussed options - chose medical management. Appointment made for next day to start this.
Thursday - back at EPU and pessary given to start medical management. Sent home to await the inevitable. Miscarried that night/early hours of Friday morning.
Had a scan at the EPU again the following week to make sure everything had passed etc.

It was a three week wait for me. I went private.

Op phone your provider, ask them to direct you to who will carry out an ERPC they will sort it for you.

Sorry you are going through this.

My experience a couple of weeks ago was that I was seen two days after miscarriage was confirmed for surgical management. This was at Kingston Hospital. It's a horrible time, but they were so lovely and I'm so glad I took this route. If not, check the BUPA/provider site- they may be able to make recommendations on the chat.

Thanks everyone. Axa will cover but said I have to source my own consultant. I’ve been treated at the epu at royal free Hampstead before but it was a faff getting seen in the first place (they wanted me to have gp referral, I persuaded them to see me but had to wait 4 hrs). Then they booked surgery for a week later but it happened naturally before then. I mostly want to do private as will be coming back from a big holiday to lots of work commitments so really anxious about taking more time off or miscarrying naturally at work (I’m a therapist working with vulnerable adults one on one so can’t just leave).
does anyone know which nhs epu would be best as whether I can self refer?
im getting another scan just to confirm today but im in the Cayman Islands so this foreign scan unlikely to count in uk.

Go to UCLH. It's a walk in service and, while it is a few years since I was there, I don't think I had to wait too long for my ERPC. Details are: here

If you wanted to go private if the wait is too long they may be able to point you in the right direction. Otherwise it might be worth calling these people: https://www.clairemellon.co.uk/gynaecology which is a private obs and gynae practice (I've seen a couple of the doctors listed in the past) and they may be able to advise.

I'm sorry for your loss. Not London unfortunately but just outside in Surrey, I went to Ashtead hospital for my first ERPC that I had privately because it was a week's wait on the NHS.
