Recurrent early miscarriages

Hello,

I have had four early miscarriages in the past year ranging from 5 weeks - 7 weeks. Have had all the blood tests done and no cause to be found. Will be getting a 3D scan to check for any structural issues but the gynaecologist doubted it. Her feeling was that it's just been the wrong egg/sperm each time and I just need to carry on.
I'm 35 years old, AMH 18. I have Crohn's disease so some autoimmune/inflammatory issues. Where do I go from here? Can it really just be bad luck every time?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I completely understand how devastating and confusing this is. I also suffered with recurrent miscarriages.
Have you been seen by the recurrent miscarriage clinic? If not, please ask your GP for a referral so they can do additional testing.

It's the early pregnancy unit at my hospital, they have done all the clotting blood tests etc and will do a scan. Are there other tests I should be asking for?

I have autoimmune disease and suffered 6 MCs. I finally stayed pregnant taking low dose steroids and blood thinning injections. I tested negative for clotting issues but it was tried anyway just in case. I had 2 successful pregnancies on this treatment plan.

Thank you so much! Did you have to get this plan privately?

I did have low APTT but as the other tests were fine she said this wasn't causing the miscarriages

@User01965 I saw a recurrent miscarriage consultant once privately and asked him if he would see and treat me in his NHS clinic and he agreed. He told me to call him as soon as I had a positive pregnancy test which I did and he saw me straight away. I am forever grateful to him. I was told by the NHS that it was one of those things and unrelated to my autoimmune disease.

@KellyMarieTunstall2 was this Dr Shehata? Did you have to undergo any NK tests?

@User01965 no it was Dr Rami Atalla. I didn't have NK testing.

@KellyMarieTunstall2 ahh cool OK! Did you have 10mg of pred from first positive test? Sorry for all the questions! And also just wondering how did you know to get that without the tests?

I can't remember the exact does of prednisolone it was 7 years ago. I also had heparin injections. We decided to try the plan as I have autoimmunity disease and it was thought that my immune system attacked the pregnancies. The pred dampened down the immune system and the heparin prevented any small clots. I also had cyclogest pessaries too. I had fortnightly scans until 12 weeks.

When you have 3 miscarriages you are eligible to be referred to the recurrent miscarriage centre, they'll do more testing and will also look after you with future pregnancies in the earlier stage (offer treatment etc).
You GP can refer you, you will be seen with them for testing with a specialist and then you can refer yourself back to them next time you fall pregnant for monitoring & applicable treatment.

So sorry you're going through this . I also had a missed miscarriage in May (baby stopped at 7+1weeks) but my body let go at 12 weeks and found out today that I miscarried again at 7 weeks ( didn't even know I was pregnant until I passed a large clot/sac ..I took a test ) . I'm being referred onto a clinic but could be waiting upto 6 months.
Have been told that If I get pregnant ( highly doubt it as i havent even grieved for the baby i lost in may , now having to grieve this baby too) in between now and getting an appointment I will need to ring the epu and they will see me for monitoring and I'll be put on progesterone and aspirin
