Waiting/Not waiting after Tube removal

Just wanting to hear stories so please don't come after me 😂It's more to settle hubby who wants to try again right away. I know they recommend to wait for first cycle to come back but everyone is different. Did anyone NOT wait the recommended cycle?

Hi OP was the tube removal due to eptopic/damage?

Its best to wait the recommended time as your body will be healing and you could be at risk of miscarriage.

I was desperate to try again after having my tube removed due to an ectopic. So I completely understand where you’re coming from.

However, I ended up with an infection basically from pushing myself to be back to normal faster than my body was ready for. So I was glad we had agreed to wait until I was fully recovered, even though it took some convincing from my husband.

Yes we did. It was quite a journey from that point onwards, but I was 38 when it happened, and also had two previous losses — so there were a lot of tests and IVF before we got our rainbow. But many women go on to conceive easily. Wishing you all the best x

Wait for first cycle to come back.

Unfortunately OP, we did wait and wait and wait. But my first cycle did take a while. Your body has been through a lot.

like another poster, I pushed myself to be “back to normal” and I was just exhausted.

Having said that, no one can tell you what to do.

Hi everyone,

I just had a tube removed last week after an ectopic.

How long did it take to get your first period? Did you start tracking ovulation?

We haven't had sex yet since my surgery but wondering if I should start tracking again to see how my cycles pan out

My first period came yesterday ( surgery was 27th April...ovulated just shy of three weeks later...period was bang on time)

@Livingonhope

That's good to know. Is your period like normal?

100 percent normal not going I did have pain last night before period came but you are warned about that hot water bottle I was fine again and totally fine today. I usually only have a 3-4 day bleed and then it lightens up and goes by day 5 so il keep you posted if it'd any different ( there's something I never thought I'd say!) how are you feeling/ recovering

@Livingonhope are you going to start trying straight away?
How do you feel a bit further along?

I'm recovering okay, not really any pain, just tired and meh.

Years ago I had fertility tests that showed one tube was blocked, unfortunately the ectopic was in my 'good tube' and that one was removed. The hospital said I have to wait 2-3 months before they will test the remaining tube to see if the tube is still blocked. So I'm not sure how to feel... I'm not sure if I should hope for the best? Or not get my hopes up! I don't know if my cycles will gives any clues 🤷🏻‍♀️
