Bleeding 2 weeks after surgical management

I had surgical management for a miscarriage two weeks ago today. I was 10.5 weeks with baby measuring 9w4d when it stopped growing. I bled a lot in the op and a little after then I've had brown/pink discharge for the last week or so, until today. I now have red bleeding again and mild cramps. Feels like a period, but obviously isn't as it's been two weeks and my pregnancy tests are still positive. Has this happened to anyone? Can it be normal?

I'm sorry for your loss. If your pregnancy tests are still positive it could be retained products (although sometimes it just takes a little while for the HCG to reduce enough for a negative test). Could you call your local EPU/EGU for advice? They may suggest that you wait it out a little longer but they might want to bring you in for a scan to check that there isn't still pregnancy tissue left, or something specific causing the ongoing bleeding.

@Teaple sorry for your loss sweet 💐 I second what @CluelessInLondon from what I've read on here it does sound like you could have retained products. Get seen in EPU sometimes they recommend letting it pass naturally sometimes you need further treatment. Sorry you are having a rough time. Take care of yourself 💐💐

Thanks both. I did speak to the EPAU on Friday and they just so sometimes you can bleed for longer but that if it's ongoing or I'm still testing positive at 3 weeks then they'll scan me. I do feel that something isn't right and have a feeling I'll be getting a scan in a few days when I get to 3 weeks. I just really hope I don't need the surgery again 😞

@Teaple aww sweet don't worry. At least by having the scan you'll have a definite answer. I have read posts on here that even with retained products they can advise to let it pass naturally so don't stress yourself worrying about surgery just yet. Be kind to yourself Hun 💐💐
