7 chemical pregnancies

Hi,

Just had my 7th chemical pregnancy...I can't seem to get past 5 weeks since having my almost 4 year old! It's heartbreaking but I'm also numb to it now 😞

Have been under the recurrent miscarriage clinic now for 18 months with no answers - all bloods and ultrasound normal. We've both had chromosome testing which is normal too. The only risk factor is my BMI which is higher than ideal and I'm working on it.

Currently looking to do sperm DNA fragmentation test privately. I can't find anywhere near me that would do nk cells. Consultant has given me progesterone and said I can take it from ovulation, also aspirin from a positive test.

If you have had 6+ chemicals and all bloods etc were normal - then went on to have a successful pregnancy - what did you do differently? Do you think it was just luck??

I'm planning on getting some vaginal probiotics and have started taking different preconception vitamins on the recommendation of my friend going through #2 IVF

Where are you? There's a clinic in Coventry that does deft testing. Google implantation clinic, Prof Brosens. It's self funded but not that expensive compared to ivf

Harrym2022 · 31/01/2024 12:41

Thanks but I'm down near Brighton so too far!

Sorry to jump on this. I'm just reading about Prof Bronsens @Cariadxx, that looks really interesting. Have you got personal experience of it?

Yes, I'm waiting on my biopsy results right now.
He was quite negative about my age (39) but I've been having mc for 2 years so it can't be just that. Otherwise he was uber confident in finding a solution....
Initial consultatation was £160 and deft £700.
My friend is a few months down the line ahead of me and is in sitagliptin. She conceived on first month of trying but unfortunately was an ectopic

I've been reading about it since I saw your earlier message @Cariadxx. Definitely seems like a good idea before going down the route of a third IVF cycle. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Good luck with the biopsy results. How long do you have to wait?

Officially 4-6 weeks but I've heard it's been more like 4 recently

Hi, I wonder if you had a Csection with your little one? I’ve had 5 chemical pregnancies since May 2023, and the hospital think it could be because of a fault with how my Csection scar has healed, they call it a ‘niche’. There are estimates that say around 60% of women have one post Csection. I’m waiting to show a negative test from my latest chemical to enable me to be added to the waiting list for corrective surgery. X

Harrym2022 · 29/02/2024 06:46

@Jfxx I didn't no - she was prem and just flew out haha! Hopefully it's the answer for you and you can get surgery to correct quickly x

Hi, do you mind me asking if you got anywhere with this? I've just had my 4th miscarriage this year and feeling a bit lost, waiting for a private appointment at the end of the month but looking for any advice/hope

Hey! I am now 7+4 and have seen a heartbeat on a scan 🙂 furthest I've got since TTC in the past 3ish years and hoping it sticks! The only things I did differently were that we both started taking the pregnacare conception vitamins and I started to take optibac. I think I had been taking them for 2/3 months and when I fell pregnant I noticed my tests were a lot darker than my chemicals from day 1, I got a 3+ on clearblue just before I was 5 weeks. I then started to take progesterone twice a day and aspirin every evening from a positive test.

This is amazing, so happy for you, sending lots of positive vibes and baby dust

@Harrym2022 you give me so much hope! I've had 4 miscarriages/chemicals. Furtherest I got was 7 weeks and had to pass a sac but the rest are 5 weeks or less.

Scorpion84 · 06/06/2024 12:42

I've had 6 losses 2 missed miscarriages and 4 chemical pregnancies.

i conceived my daughter aged 37 two weeks after the 6th loss

all nhs testing normal including sperrm frag

The only thing I did privately was go to prof Brosens where I had 2 womb biopsies which showed I had very low nk cells which correlates with poor implantation . I took sitagliptin for 3 months which is meant to increase stem sells in the womb . I then conceived for the 6th time and had another loss . Two weeks after I conceived again and the pregnancy was txtbook just like my sons before the miscarriages . I never had any of my losses tested so I had no concrete answers and I don't know if the treatment from Brosens made a difference. I took no additional meds not even progesterone x

@Harrym2022 hope you’re pregnancy is going well! Back on Mumsnet looking for hope and saw this post! Sending lots of love and best wishes!

Harrym2022 · 27/07/2024 23:01

I am currently 16 weeks 🥰 I had lots of early scans with the epu before my standard 12 week scan. The only thing I changed this cycle was that we had both started taking the pregnacare conception vitamins 2 months before and I was also taking optibac just because my friend who has been through IVF said her consultant had recommended it to her

@Jfxxhi, hope you don’t mind me messaging, but I’m in exactly the same position as what you wrote above (5 chemicals following a c section), and I just had an ultrasound showing fluid in the niche. Did you end up getting corrective surgery?
