Hi everyone. I’ve not used anything like this before but I’m hoping for some advice. In the last three years I’ve miscarried seven times. Most recently at 15 weeks, overnight at home which was a really painful and quite traumatic experience. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’ve just turned 34, and I can’t get anyone at the doctors to take me seriously. I was promised a referral during covid, but nothing ever came of it. How do I get them to listen to me? At 8 weeks I went to the doctors because I was so exhausted I could hardly move, I couldn’t keep food down and I had already had some bleeding but she told me I was basically complaining about something totally normal, even though I knew something was wrong.

Would really appreciate any advice x

I’m so sorry you went through that. Did you visit the hospital after for blood tests? You need to push for a referral to the miscarriage clinic. You can ask your local hospital to put you in touch with a bereavement midwife. My bereavement midwife has been fantastic with advice and keeping in contact.

So sorry for your losses. I have had 4 and have been under the care of the Coventry recurrent miscarriage clinic since my third loss via GP referral

I'm truly sorry for your losses OP, speaking as someone who had 6 herself, I know how devastating that is and there are no words of comfort.
You absolutely should have been offered a referral to an NHS recurrent MC consultant after 3 maximum and you should also have been offered counselling or a bereavement midwife, I believe after just one. Although GPs in my experience are pretty useless with any of this and the best route to get the right support is your local early pregnancy unit, if you contact them, they will help you with a referral, it may take a few months to see a consultant, but the sooner you get on the list the better and they should be able to assign you a consellor much quicker than that.
You might have come across these already, but there are two main charities in the UK that offer support for miscarriage, Tommy's and the Miscarriage Association, here's the links in case you need them.

I hope you never have to get through this again, sending love and a really big hug ❤

It could be antiphospholipid syndrome, a form of lupus, ask for tests. You'll. need to start blood thinner, do you suffer with migraines?
