TW MC: Histology Report

Hi ladies. I am just looking for some advice please.
Today I had the histology report for my MMC September last year. Also crazy that it was a year ago today we found out at the scan there was no heart beat. The histology report states the following:

‘The histology report from the products of conception are suggestive of retained products of conception with the pregnancy tissue, and there is no other abnormality being detected on the retained products of conception’

Has anyone had the same results? Am I to assume there was nothing ‘wrong’ with the foetus based on the above? Which if the case is even more heartbreaking to know.
I’ve had 4 MC and currently 30 weeks pregnant. So I’m more just looking for similar scenarios than answers, as I’m well aware these situations are ‘one of those things’ etc..

Thanks

I'm sorry for your loss. My understanding of the histology report is it's looking for anything like cancer. When I had my pregnancies tested, it went to histology first which was normal, then was sent for cytogenetics to test the chromosomes to look for abnormalities. I've had the cytogentic report which tells the sex of the baby too.

Both of the babies I had tested with cytogenetics were chromosomally healthy and it is hard to know they were healthy.

I’m so sorry for your loss OP. I think this report is saying only that what they took out was normal pregnancy related stuff, and not a molar pregnancy (overgrowth of certain cells, which can become a cancer risk). As far as I know this doesn’t tell you anything about the loss you experienced, or the baby you lost. I know not knowing is incredibly hard in itself.

Congratulations on your current pregnancy. Really hope all continues to go well.
