Positive test 4 weeks after miscarriage

Hi all, looking for some advice, I had a medical miscarriage on the 19th July and stopped bleeding on 23rd July after my 12 week scan showed I was 8+3 with no heartbeat.

I’ve been testing regularly for a couple of weeks with the sensitive easy at home tests and they’ve reduced from a blazing positive to yesterday what I thought was negative.

I had a scan booked at EPU as I was still positive after 3 weeks and was told to let them know if it goes negative in the meantime, which I did. The hospital is a good hours drive away and obviously holds some pretty bad memories so I’d like to avoid going back if possible.

I’ve taken another test this morning and there is now a faint line, picture doesn’t show but it is faintly pink and not an indent.

I just really want my period to come back so that I can feel at least a little in control of my body again.

Anyone else have any experience of this, should I wait and continue to test or should I phone EPU and rebook the scan?

I’ve attached the pictures of the two negative tests from Monday and the single positive test from today.

Thanks in advance!

I should also add that this is absolutely no possibility of this being a new pregnancy.

After my miscarriage it took a while (5 months at least) for my period to regulate again. I had ended up getting an MVAC because not everything had come away. It was like I was having two cycles and was a nightmare. Only then did the cycle regulate. Don't know if it was to do with that or if I started with perimenopause straight after but my periods have been awful ever since.

I do feel it would be safest option for you to rebook the scan. Take care. It’s a tough time.

I'm in exactly this position, miscarried on 8th of July, got my first negative today, so hopefully that is the end. How are you feeling? I think that I was still actively miscarrying 2 weeks after surgical management, but now it's finally coming to an end.
I had to go back in last week and they just did a test and it was a bit darker than your faint one and they said rather than put me through further scans and surgery to wait a bit longer.
Maybe worth seeing if they could talk to you over the phone and you could send them a photo rather than having to go in?

Also is the positive the blue and white one? I find those more sensitive that the strips, but have been using the strips for this as they are the ones they use in hospital.

Hi op I'm so sorry for your loss I hope your doing ok I'd say I can still see a v faint positive in the tests you have posted as negative and I'd definitely go and get a scan to make sure all is ok xx

Take of and be kind to yourself Flowers

I had medical management and then a d&c a week later after a missed miscarriage like yourself. Firstly I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s been 6 weeks now and after testing negative after 3 weeks I’m now back to testing positive. Also booked in to see what’s going on. I really hope your apt goes ok 🩵

Scan this morning showed no retained tissue or abnormal blood supply and hospital pregnancy test showed as negative. Feels good to have the peace of mind that it’s now just a waiting game for my period to return, and there’s no other issues. Thanks for your support yesterday!
