Miscarriage tissue larger than expected (graphic)

I've just miscarried what was my 6 week pregnancy. We were told at 8.5 weeks that baby had stopped growing at 6. I would have been 10.5 today and have just (painfully) passed an enormous bundle of tissue - much bigger than I would have expected considering baby would only have been about 5mm. The whole thing I've passed is about 10cm long and looks like a piece of umbilical cord with a large plum sized greyish sac on the end. I don't know what to do with it. I can't bear to flush it.

I don't understand why it's so big. All the websites say remains would only be 5mm and most like blood clots at 6 weeks.

Help, please.

It would be the sac and the placenta. Placenta is much larger than baby at that stage. You have to remember that even though baby was tiny he was inside a sac with amniotic fluid, attached to a placenta. This also all has to come out.
So sorry for your loss OP x

I'm so sorry for your loss. I wouldn't want to flush either. I would bury in the garden in a nice quiet spot Flowers

We've just buried it under the cherry tree in our garden. Thanks for the hand holds xxx
