Hi everyone I’m absolutely gutted and heartbroken that I have had my 2nd miscarriage in 6months. I wanted some advice, last time I had a natural miscarriage severe cramps and bleeding that lasted nearly 6weeks, this time iv had no cramping just spotting. We go away in a few weeks and just wondered if people recommend the medical or surgical management if this doesn’t start on its own? Also is this going to keep happening that the sac develops but no egg inside?

Hi lovely, I wanted to comment as I am in a similar position. I am in IVF patient, my husband and I were not able to conceive on our own after almost 3 years of trying. First IVF transfer took but we were diagnosed with a blighted ovum at 7 weeks. I am currently having a miscarriage of my 2nd pregnancy which was a MMC diagnosed again at 7 weeks. I don't have too much to offer in the way of advice so I'll just share my own experience. I miscarried 4 days after withdrawing from progesterone last time but this time it has been 4 days, I'm bleeding but only very lightly where I would have passed the sac by now in the last one. My plan is to have medical management after the bank holiday is there is no progress. If it weren't for the risks, I would have surgical management for certain but I just don't feel I can further risk my fertility.

With two early losses, my fertility clinic suspect genetic abnormalities but at this point no one can say if there is an issue with my husband and I or whether we've just had really bad luck. Have your EPAU said anything about referring to a recurrent miscarriage clinic? In my area you can be referred after 2 miscarriages so we are hoping now to have some answers.

Sending love and if you need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me x

@CMG92 I would recommend surgical management I went in and they removed everything all successful and was home that night minimal bleeding and minimal cramps. So sorry for your loss 💔♥️🤗

Thanks for your kind messages both
@clhsgirl sorry you have been through the same thing life is so cruel, I have been given the booklets to decide what I want to do and I’m torn tbh! The hospital said it’s very cruel as they dont investigate until 3 miscarriages in a row so we are thinking of going private to find out if the genetics are wrong etc. hope you feel ok after your management and it all works out for you in the end xx
@Unicorn2023 sorry to hear you have been through this also. I was 8+3 just wondered how far along you were and did you have local or general? The idea of a local seemd better but the thought of having an injection in my cervix has me thinking it’s very painful. Thanks for the advice xx

@CMG92 Mine was a MMC so I should have been 11 weeks but stopped growing at 6 weeks. I had a general anaesthetic x

@Unicorn2023 Thankyou I would rather have this but as I’m under 10weeks not sure if I would have to have the local like it says on the leaflet. Guess I’ll find out next fri when I have the meeting x

@CMG92 I originally went in for medical management because surgical would be two weeks and I didn’t want to wait that long. I was kept in hospital as this was my 5th miscarriage so wanted it tested but after 11 tablets nothing happened so had to go for surgical management but if you get the choice then take surgical and tell them you want general ♥️ x
