I'm early about 6 weeks and it's been two weeks and my body is not found anything naturally so I'm choosing misoprotol option at home this week.
I already have a child to drop too and from school so ideally Im going
To try and be able to drive for a day or
Two afterwards only a short drive or
Should I arrange for another person as
My partner works away
Also do I need hot water bottle pain killers pads & anything else ? Thanks xx

So sorry for your loss. I don't have personal experience of medical management but I have been awaiting surgical management for a MMC diagnosed on Friday. Surgery was booked for tomorrow but I started passing it naturally over the weekend. From my experience I would say it's probably best to have someone lined up for the school runs. I haven wanted to go too far from a toilet. At times it's been fine with just a pad in, but others I've had fishes of stuff that have flooded the pad and gone through to my trousers a bit. Also the emotions of it just hit at random times. Of course this is just my experience and yours may be very different but I just wanted to share to help you with your decision process. Hope all goes as well as it can for you. Massive big hugs. ❤️

Apologies for couple of typos. Also, yes, definitely have painkillers. I took some premptively and kept on top of them every 4 hours while things seemed to be at their peak. No point being a martyr. I had cramps but again for me they haven't been horrendous. More like early labour cramps or a bad period. And a hot water bottle helped too 👍🏻

I'm sorry for your loss.

I took the medication for medical management on Wednesday - I found out I'd miscarried at 8 weeks but believed I was 12 weeks along.

I don't want to scare you, because it seems like a lot of women go through this with essentially really bad period pains and lots of bleeding.

However, after taking the medication what happened with me essentially was my uterus started contracting to try and expel the tissues but my cervix hadn't opened at all and I was in more pain than I've felt in my entire life. They had given me really strong pain killers but it didn't even touch it.

I ended up in the hospital to help manage the pain, and ended up staying the night because it was too late in the day to be discharged. The blood and clots that were coming out were also incredible.

As soon as the embryo was out the pain stopped immediately and I've had no pain since. However my one piece of advice is to clear the rest of the day with zero obligations, and have another trusted person to hand to look after you when you need it.

Wishing you the best and I hope everything goes ok xxx

I had a medical miscarriage last night. Went for a dating scan and there was no heartbeat at 9 weeks. We'd had a private scan the week before and all was fine so it was a shock. They gave me the first tab in the hospital and then told me to take the misoprostol 24 hours later. They also gave me A diclofenac suppository and co-dydramol and told me to take the diclofenac 3o mins before the misoprostol and then use the Co-dydramol 1-2 tabs every 4 to 6 hours.

I took the misoprostol at 5pm and started spotting at 7pm. At that point I took 4 co-dydramol and took them every 4 hours till 4.30am when I only needed to take one.

There was a lot of blood and a lot of large clots that came out - like the size of my palm. The pains were like strong period pains and that is with the pain relief I had on board so I Dont think OTC medicine will help. I managed with a very hot hot water bottle but I think the pain relief I was given made a massive difference.

Get some puppy pads to put wherever you sit and cover with a towel. I slept at one point during myiscarriage and woke to a gush that went through my pad, knickers, leggings and onto the towel I was laying on. I had puppy pads under it to protect the couch

Some women get nauseous from it so have a bucket you can throw up into just in case. I had one but didn't need it

Can you speak with the EPU and ask for a prescription for stronger pain relief? My doctor was very clear that medical management was painful. The hospital also gave me the pads that were like nappies to check blood loss (if I soaked through all 3 in an hour go go A&E)

I have a 2 year old and, for me, having the tabs at night meant she was in bed and I could just be as relaxed as I could be during it, watch shit TV and go back and forth to the loo as I needed to.

Hope it goes well please ask any questions you like
