Third loss

I've just found out at a 7+5 scan that baby is too small and heartbeat is too slow so looking at impending miscarriage. This will be my third loss in 8 months. I have one living child. The other two losses passed naturally at around 6 weeks and did not reach heartbeat stage.

Now just a waiting game to see if the pregnancy passes naturally. Otherwise it's medical management or a d&c. I'm nervous about a d&c due to the risk of scar tissue which I'm sure I already have from my first c section.

I'm told foetus is measuring around 5 weeks at 3.5mm.

Hi Plock,
I'm so sorry for your losses. That's so sad and hard. I hope you're being treated with kindness and sensitivity.
If you're nervous about a d and c maybe that's the last option for you and you could pursue the other options before a d and c.
Do you know you have scar tissue or just suspect it? If you just suspect it I hope you will be given an opportunity to find out for sure, when the time is right.

I hope whichever choice you make or whatever happens you are able to spend some time healing and looking after yourself afterwards. It's exceptionally hard.
You should be able to access NHS support for recurrent miscarriage if you want to / can muster the strength (although it's hard, I know).
I have had four losses myself - also after having my first child so I think I can empathise a little with how you're feeling.
Sending love and support. xx

I really don't want medical management, I had a termination in my teens and found the pain unbearable, and it's the same pills.

I was told a few years ago I have a c section scar defect and some pelvic adhesions.

Hello @Plock

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I went through similar and had surgical management last Saturday. I'm really glad I chose that option because, like you, I had a medical termination years ago and found the physical experience really quite traumatic.

I'm also worried about scarring. My surgeon said the risk is about 2%. If it does happen, one of the symptoms is your periods not returning promptly. I've read threads where this has happened to women and on investigation the scarring can be fixed with another procedure. I decided it was a risk worth taking, but of course you may feel differently.

If you have any questions about the procedure I'm very happy to answer. Sending support. It's so very difficult and sad 💛
