Does a chemical count towards the three miscarriage rule?

Hi ladies, I found out I was pregnant on Monday then started bleeding today so was only 4+5, which I think counts as a chemical pregnancy. I had two early miscarriages at 6 weeks last year, so I was wondering, will this third loss count towards the three miscarriage rule to get some further tests?

Anyone got any positive stories of success after having three early losses? It’s all feeling pretty bleak right now! Thanks x

I'm really sorry to hear that OP, I don't know the answer but I'm following as have been wondering this myself. Hopefully someone can answer.

Sorry for your losses Flowers

@Enigma85 @ratherbthedevil Thank you both for your replies. I had actually emailed the Tommy’s midwives for advice and they confirmed that yes it does count.

You've got your answer... with any luck you'll have a pregnancy stick whilst they're doing all the blood tests etc!

I had a chemical, but it wasn't counted. Because I hadn't taken a pregnancy test 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'd been pregnant often enough to know, and was trying to put less pressure on myself! Another chemical was counted because I'd tested. Wish I'd not mentioned the testing thing. DC1 arrived from pregnancy number 5 before tests happened(I didn't push hard enough).

Chemicals should definitely count but I have read of others struggling to get drs to recognise them. Great you have confirmation from tommys as you can use that to back you up if you get pushback from your GP. Good luck!
