Low PAPPA Fetal growth 13/14 weeks Tips

Hi, currently I have 2 children. My son is 5 and daughter is 2.

Both of my miscarriages took place around 13/14 weeks and both were boys. I took 150 mg aspirin for my daughter and aspirin this time round which led to a miscarriage. The doctors couldn't find out why it happened.

When I was around 3 months, I received a call from my midwife stating, I have a low PAPPA and my placenta isn't work effectively. She also stated my baby is measuring small which wasn't mentioned at my 3 months scan. She recommended taking aspirin. I was already taking aspirin at 12 weeks as i have a previous history of a miscarriage.

From my understanding, around 13/14 weeks, not enough oxygen or nutrients is passed through the placenta.

What can I do different this time so that my placenta is getting enough oxygen?

Please Help! Many Thanks

@postive987 no advice but I think I'm in a similar situation.

I've got a boy and a girl, and this year I have lost a boy and a girl, both found at 16 weeks but both lost around 14 weeks after a perfect 12 week scan. I took 150mg aspirin after the first loss and still lost my daughter in October. No reason has been found for my first loss, we even had genetic testing plus full post mortem.

Not had any results back from this second loss yet, but although I'm TTC again, I'm terrified of another loss. Have they said that it's a placenta problem for you? You said the midwife said baby is small, did they change your due date at your 12 week scan? For both of the babies I lost, my due date was put on 1 day from LMP so I'm not sure mine were small at that point. But perhaps placenta failed after then? It's so hard not knowing!
Are you under a reoccurring miscarriage clinic? After 2 second trimester losses you're entitled to their increased monitoring and support in subsequent pregnancies I believe

@MrsC2018 thank you so much for replying.

At 3 months scan everything was absolutely fine as I remember. During the scan, baby was well behaved. For some reason my instinct was telling me something isn't right. Similar feeling to my previous loss. After 2 weeks I receive a call from my midwife that baby was measured small and that is due to placenta. I'm absolutely petrified to have another loss and currently TTC as well.

I didn't a lot of research on Mumsnet and some say, medication is given to increase blood flow in the placenta. I'm looking to book an appointment with a private consultant and will take it from there.

@postive987 it's funny isn't it, I thought with the 2 I lost that I knew there was something wrong. But to be fair, with my daughter, now 2 I also thought there was something wrong and there wasn't. My last miscarriage was the end of October so I've still got the debrief from the consultant and will definitely be asking about whether they think it was placenta problems for me. Hopefully we'll find our answers xx
