Hiya getsome.... I'm really sorry for your losses, I hope you are looking after yourself.

I had 5 (known) miscarriages in all including my sons twin (all my pregnancies were IVF) but the initial thought for our infertility was my husband who has a very very low sperm count.

However, after the 3rd miscarriage it became clear that we needed some tests regarding the whys! I opted to have what are called Chicago Tests - basically I had 87 gallons of blood taken (slight over exaggeration!) and they were sent to a clinic in Chicago who test for all kinds of immune/blood issues and it was discovered that I have a few under lying issues that caused me to A) not conceive at all and B) lose my pregnancies.

I have NK Cells which is very simple layman's terms causes my body to reject 'foreign bodies' such as virus etc including embryos, I have Factor V Leiden which is essentially sticky blood resulting in not enough blood flow to my uterus, I have Homozygous MTHFR a gene mutation that causes my body to not absorb and use B vitamins properly including folic acid and somethings wrong with my ANAs! Altogether, these things were catastrophic with regards to helping me to get and then remain pregnant.

However, all those things had a really simple fix once we knew what was wrong and with high dose folic, clexane injections to thin my blood and steroids to lower my immune system I gave birth to a beautiful little boy.

What I am trying to say in my waffling above is that there are multiple reason why and yes, sometimes there arnt but if I was you I would be broaching the subject of blood tests such as the Chicago Tests I had to hopefully get to the bottom of it.

Ask about them, ask them to tell you about EVERYTHING that is available to you. I had pay for Chicago Tests because I had them done through my IVF clinic but that might not be the case for you.

I wish you all the very best.

Also, I bought a book called 'is your body baby friendly' by Alan Beer and it was a fabulous guide to so many things particularly miscarriage. I recommend it.

From memory, I had weight measured etc, referred for a pelvic scan, I had blood tests booked to be taken on 21st day of cycle. Dh had sperm tested and we both had blood tests to check for genetic issues. All from the first appt. Good luck!

Mine was during covid so had a phone appointment with a doctor who asked about my history with periods, fertility and miscarriage. Had already been for pelvic ultrasound (which was done transvaginally) which was fine and some blood tests. Blood tests didn't show much wrong clotting was slightly off but still normal. Prescribed vitamin d, high dose folic acid and if and when I get pregnant I am to call them and will give me anti-clotting injection, asprin and progesterone.
Do have one child who is 9 but have had three miscarriages trying to have a second.

Thanks for all responses. I'm not looking after myself no. I had mu 3rd miscarriage 5 months ago and I haven't processed it. I haven't even started grieving. I've just been on autopilot for this time but I've had a successful pregnancy previously as I have an older ds but I was a lot younger.
I can get pregnant which is a blessing & I'm extremely thankful for my child but not being able to carry after first weeks when you have before is cruel 😔
I just have no clue what they will say today or what to expect
X

So basically I had the consultation & she jus said the results from my last pregnancy were inconclusive, something about how they could tell the difference between my blood and baby's blood to do the test🤷🏼‍♀️ she did an internal scan straight away and said it all looks ok took my bloods and said it we will write to you if there anything you need to take in next pregnancy etc. she gave me progesterone pessaries for when I'm next pregnant and as I'm 35 & a half
Her advice to not wait around and to try again as soon as. Been very deflated and I don't know why

Does she mean that the baby and your blood groups are different?

The good news I take from what you've said (and I promise I know that it's not easy to see the positives ❤️) is that the dildo cam showed nothing untoward. That's one thing ticked off, also the fact that they will provide medication for next time. These are steps in the right direction.

Please take care x
