Chemical?

Hi i tested positive very early during 2ww (12 days ago first positive) due to severe nausea and vomiting amongst some other symptoms. I had a missed period roughly 4-7 days late hard to tell as cycles irregular. I started to test negative and low and behold i start bleeding heavily today. I contacted GP to see likelihood of chemical pregnancy as i’ve had one in the past and i knew it would just be like a bad period. This GP referred me to EPAS and since speaking to them they are confused to as why i was referred as theres nothing they can do no blood tests to confirm, would only see me due to reoccurring miscarriages but biochemicals don’t count towards that as theres ‘nothing there so early’ so really what i’m guess i’m trying to say is i’m just left wondering/decide myself if i’ve had a chemical or not.

Hi sorry you're going through this and that everyone hasn't been very helpful. If you tested positive, have bled and are now testing negative then unfortunately that is a chemical and in my experience something that medical professionals expect you to deal with on your own as there's not much they can do. I've had chemicals and never had any of them confirmed by anyone. I think they can do blood tests to monitor your HCG levels but I don't think that's standard in the UK, pregnancy tests are quite sensitive so if they're fading and negative then that will be the likely answer.

Thanks for taking the time to reply I appreciate it, i just wasn’t sure why i’d been referred to EPAS i had assumed maybe things had progressed since i had my last chemical, it’s heartbreaking how still years on there’s not as much support surrounding chemicals and act like it’s nothing. Sorry to hear you have had to go through this as well.
