Dr Shehata tests - what to expect

Hi, I have an appointment at Dr Shehata's clinic in Epsom in the next few weeks. I've had 1 miscarriage at 6.5 weeks, one at 11 weeks (stopped growing at 7 though) and a chemical pregnancy within the last year. Decided to go to a private clinic as I didn't want to join NHS wait times as I thought that would drive me insane.

I just wondered what tests will be done and what other peoples experiences have been of Dr Shehata? I feel pretty anxious about it all. We haven't tried this month as we were told the tests can't be done when you're pregnant and I feel anxious about even missing this month (just in case...).

Hi @SunDance21 I'm sorry for your losses ❤️ I'm under Dr Shehata. At your first appointment he'll run through your losses / history with you. If you decide to go ahead with the testing, you'll get your bloods taken (it's a lot). My dh didn't do the sperm analysis tests but if your partner is doing them, he'll go and do that. I was back in 2 weeks for my results. I have overactive nk cells and was put on the complex plan with hydroxychloroquine and intralipids from ovulation. I had a review in February and he added in predisolone.
I'm quite an unusual case as we struggle to conceive (most people I've spoken to conceive quickly and people I started with are having their babies now). I did a round of ivf in May and had a chemical pregnancy but it was unrelated to the nk cells - I'm doing more tests with crp before we try again. I'm on a thread with lots of others who are seeing him, you should join it. I'll get the link x

Hi everyone! Im currently waiting to see Shehata or one of his consultants via nhs in epsom, anyone done this or in the same boat?

My story is 2 miscarriages, healthy child born 2020, followed by 2 miscarriages. All nhs testing has come back normal so I want to check nk cells. Does treatment for these reallt work?

I have found the last 2 miscarriages have been very similar with a hematoma next to the sac (but no bleed.. always a missed miscarriage) so i wonder if its an implantation issue?

I am 36, but i am guessing by the time i have been seen and put on treatment.. i then need a few months for the meds to kick in? So realistically another 9 months to a year before I can ttc again? I dont want to spend thousands if nhs will work, however i know i cant get intralipids on nhs. Am i wasting time with shehata on nhs?

@Hayley220 hi Hayley I am trying to get to the Epsom recurrent miscarriage clinic via the NHS as I just had my 3rd miscarriage.
Did you get to see Dr Shehata? He is the one I have been recommended but I know with the NHS you can't really ask for a specific consultant 😏
What test did they do with you?
I hope you got pregnant in the end as this is an old thread 😊
