DIY Medical management... yay or nay?

Considering going down the route of DIY medical management where you insert the pessary at home. Anyone got any positive stories to share. I'm not bleeding or cramping at all yet. Baby's heart stopped at just over 7 weeks and I'm now 9 weeks. Just worried the the medication will completely fail to have an effect because my body hasn't recognised what has happened to baby. Did anyone avoid feeling nauseous with this treatment?

Sorry for your loss. Just over a week ago I did the misoprostol pessaries, in similar circumstances - I had a scan at 10 weeks and baby had stopped growing at 7 and a bit weeks. No signs or symptoms at all, I was having early scans due to previous molar pregnancy. Six hours after inserting the tablets, I had lots of cramping and passed clots and some tissue on the toilet, then it pretty much stopped. It wasn’t as much as I expected so I feel uncertain whether it has been fully effective. I’m still showing strong positive on pregnancy tests but know that it can take time for hcg to come down. So no advice really, just sharing my experience. I felt that I could be waiting forever for natural miscarriage as it had already been a few weeks, and was told I could be waiting for surgery for a while too. It felt like the option where I had most control.

And to answer your question… I didn’t feel nauseous at all.

Hey @broodymamma I used medical management for my last Mc (3rd) though it was tablets not pessaries. I found it the best of the three options as I was at home with some "control" over it. The surgery (2nd MC) horrified me as I went to sleep and woke up feeling empty with no real knowledge of what had happened to me, if that makes sense..? I found the medical route (tablets) worked pretty quickly and efficiently, though I sat on the loo most of the evening and felt quite dizzy due to blood loss. Dunno if that helps, just my experience of medical option x

Thanks for your responses.
In the end I opted for a d&c as it was the best option for me with the summer hols and a house full of kids so needed the most predictable option. Happy it's over and done with and looking forward to a negative test in the coming weeks.
