TTC Trouble after miscarriage

Hi all, I’ll start with some back story before I get into everything. I’ve been on birth control for about 13 years, then went off this last October (2020). We weren’t TTC, but just not preventing it, (pull out method). My cycles stayed the same, around 28 day average. In February (2021), I found out we were pregnant. There was only 1 time that cycle where he didn’t pull out (CD18) so I’m guessing that 1 time was enough to make it happen! Unfortunately I miscarried at 6w4d in March. It was really tough, but we both decided we really want to try again. I started tracking my following cycle post M/C and saw I had “flashing smiley” on the clear blue OPK at CD19. Tried 3 times over the following 4 days, but never checked again to get a “solid smiley”. Figured I would get my period around CD28-30 but only got it on CD43! Figured it was just my body adjusting. What was weird though was leading up to my period, I had very uncomfortable dull aching/cramping for over a week prior, and I have never had that. Also took numerous pregnancy tests, all neg. Next cycle (my current cycle), tracked cycle with OPK, get a flashing smiley on CD22, CD23, then checked CD24 and back to nothing. Never got a “solid smiley” to indicate a Peak. I’m currently on CD39, have gotten 2 BFN so far, and just at a complete loss of what’s going on in my body. Also had the very uncomfortable/painful aching starting CD29 but that got better by CD35. I have a doc appointment in 2 weeks, but just seeing if anyone has had this kind of weirdness where it’s almost like I’m not ovulating anymore after a miscarriage? It’s frustrating having to wait 40 days for a cycle, and just not having a clue on when our fertile window is! Especially after we got pregnant so so easily at first. Any advice will help. Thank you

Firstly, sorry for your loss. I'm no expert & I haven't got pregnant after MC (yet) but I've been on the TTC/MC threads for well over a year & know it can take quite a while for your cycles to regulate again & they may be different to before. We've had ladies on our long standing thread that are young & had a MC & it whacked their cycle out for months then they are now pregnant and ladies who got pregnant straight away. Unfortunately there is no rhyme or reason it's just your body reacting to an unexpected event. I had a medicated miscarriage last year where afterwards I had AF at 28 days but that was short for me & my cycles were non ovulationary & I was bleeding very irregularly for 3 months & was told it was all normal. I had another miscarriage 13 days ago & im getting a negative HCG test & scan to confirm nothing left now & flashing smileys so I'm interested to see what my body does this time, though I'm fully expecting this cycle to be a write off & I had rubbish long cycles before with lots of non ovulation so I feel your pain.

If you have a doctors appointment that's good but they will likely not say much if you got pregnant before you will have to keep trying for a while & it will regulate again. Take heart from most of our ladies on our bus that have had an MC in the past year are pregnant again, (that's what I am doing) it's just frustrating waiting when you want something so bad ❤️

Sorry for your loss. My story is a bit different to yours, but I got pregnant on my first cycle of trying. That ended in miscarriage last august. It then took until feb this year to get pregnant again and for my cycle to get back to ‘normal’ so I could!
Ive since had 2 further miscarriages, but just wanted to share that it can take a while to get back to normal, but I know at the time it feels like it won’t. It’s good you have booked an appointment with your doctors x

@Minster2012 I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for that information, I think you're right. Just have to be patient, but that's unfortunately not one of my strong suites. It's hard when my body isn't cooperating and I get stressed thinking there is something wrong internally. Good luck on your TTC journey. Wishing you all the best Smile

@MsK89 I'm so sorry for your losses. I appreciate your response, and I think you're right that it just needs time. I eventually did end up getting AF a couple days ago, so again at CD43 (same as last month), so maybe that's just my new "normal" for the time being. Wishing you lots of luck in your TTC journey.

Very sorry for your loss.

My cycles were longer and messed up until I conceived again 8 months latter.
