I have been referred and spoke with my consultant who has advised me too take baby aspirin when I get my next BFP as all my base line bloods came back normal just waiting too have sticky blood test but am currently in the 2WW and she has said I need too makesure I’m not pregnant when I have the blood tests. So just wanting too hear stories of people taking baby aspirin 75mg for early pregnancy loss/chemical pregnancy ?
TIA xxxx

Hi @LaurenGa! I'm in s similar position to you. 3 MCs - 2MMC at 8-10 weeks and 1 MC at 6 weeks. We have never heard a heartbeat or seen any growth beyond 5.5 weeks.

We are awaiting our referral from the RMC clinic in Glasgow but we got fed up waiting so went private for a few obvious tests. My bloods were all normal (which I feel I shouldn't be so disappointed about???). Our private GYN told us I could take asprin and progesterone next time I fall pregnant. He said there's no real evidence that it will help ut it's totally safe so thought might as well!! Currently in the 2WW as well, although we found out my blood clotting results right around ovulation this cycle so we might have been too late.

Still going to wait on our NHS referral as I want to know our options. I'm so worried that we'll be in an endless cycle of miscarriages. It's so horrible, isn't it?

I don't have experience taking it (yet) but have heard of lots of women doing it and having positive outcomes (as well as not so positive). For me, it's definitely worth a try!

Hi @DancingGiraffe it’s just devastating it’s nearly been 2 years with it all now we’ve had breaks in between hence why the 2 year. We seem too fall pregnant pretty quickly just ends up devastating. My gynco said the baby aspirin has a lot of success and it’s worth a try so I think I’m going too give a go she said too take from BFP tho whereas Iv read others are taking from ovulation? My gyno also said it just sounds like really bad luck and the pregnancy tests are so sensitive these days whereas years ago people would just think there period is late. It’s just always on my mind I just want my happy ending. We will get there it will happy just need too keep positive xxxx

Hi ladies. Firstly - sending love to both of you. Miscarriage is just soul destroying.

I’m currently 11+1, I’ve been taking 150mg of aspirin since ovulation. There is a thread that I will try to find where I asked the same questions as you, and I had so many positive stories. My miscarriages have happened around the 7-8 weeks. Never got this far, I had a bleed at 9 weeks so had a scan, and everything was perfectly fine. I spoke to the consultant who advised the bleed was down to a subchronic haematoma, not due to the aspirin. My 12 week scan is on the 7th and I’m just hoping that it will be good news.

I’ve been open and honest with my midwife and the EPU when asked if taking medication. No one has battered an eye lid. I’m always asked if I have a blood clot thing disorder - and I say that I’ve never been tested and chose to take the aspiring on my own accord. And everything has been absolutely fine. Some women aren’t comfortable with taking it and don’t agree with it, I say they’re entitled to their opinions but I’m happy with my choice. Although I can’t say if it’s made a difference. I’ll find that thread now xx

I didn’t know this. Are there risks to taking it?

DancingGiraffe · 27/04/2021 19:18

@LaurenGa it's definitely worth trying and as far as I've heard, completly safe although there are articles that say it can affect implantation (maybe that's why?), but my GYN said this hasn't been proven. I'm going to try it too, fingers crossed.

I know what you mean, I'm always thinking about it and it's so hard seeing people fall pregnant left right and centre. My SIL and brother are pregnant too, it's just so difficult to see. But you're right, just need to stay positive!

@Summersun001 That is amazing, congrats and fingers crossed everything works out 🤞. I'm hoping we will have sucess the 4th time and I'm hoping the asprin and progesterone helps..🤞 will check this thread out for sure, thanks!

@DancingGiraffe I think I am deffo going too try it I’m about 6DPO so not sure when too start taking it I think il go with what my gyno said and wait for the BFP! And yes it’s really hard when everyone around you is pregnant it’s just taking over sometimes but I really am positive after reading some stories just keep positive and we will get there and get our rainbow baby 🌈 xxxx

@Summersun001 Thankyou so much for your positive story hearing them does make me more hopeful and more positive. Congratulations on your pregnancy it really sounds positive🌈 thanks for the thread I will have a read xxxx

Hi @SatsumasOrClementines. Only if it’s not been prescribed so to speak, so generally it’s prescribed if you have a history of pre eclampsia, high BMI, blood clotting disorders or if you’re a little older. I’ve not been diagnosed with anything. From what I’ve read online there are a mixture reviews from experts/heath professionals (and I’m by no means an expert 😂) so I did a little reading. But I’ve heard mostly positive stories although some are unsure if the aspirin changed anything! But the consensus was that it is such a low dose it is unlikely to cause any harm to the baby. Whenever I have shared my choice to take it on MN I’ve had a mixture of reviews from women so that’s all I meant by saying some don’t agree with it. Some just aren’t comfortable taking the risk when not prescribed which I completely understand. It was totally my choice.

I’ve also read that recurrent miscarriages will generally prescribe progesterone and aspirin to start, my progesterone levels have always been ok so I just thought I’d give it a go. Fingers crossed!

@DancingGiraffe @LaurenGa you’re welcome ladies. As I say it’s only my personal choice! I wouldn’t encourage anyone to take it if not comfortable, you’ll see from that thread I posted that I had a couple of wobbles. But I have no regrets. Look after yourselves xxxx
