Do I have to go to hospital for a miscarriage

I’ve miscarried today. I should’ve been 7+1. I’m fairly sure I’ve passed everything (this isn’t the first miscarriage I’ve had)

Is it necessary to go to the hospital? I’ve not miscarried in the U.K. before and I’m unsure how it works. I’d rather not go. I’ve 3 children at home and I’d rather just stay where I’m comfortable.

Many thanks.

I passed an intact foetus (8 weeks) after labour - like contractors.. Bleeding subsided and I didn't seek medical attention.. I did ring my mw. She said as long as I was happy at home it was OK.. Let someone know op...
It wasn't my first pregnancy..
Sorry for your loss..

I would call someone, your midwife probably, but not necessarily tonight. I miscarried at about 8.5 weeks and they scanned me to make sure there wasn’t anything remaining.
But they scanned me a few days afterwards, there was no need for me to be seen at the time. I wasn’t bleeding severely or in any pain that indicated an ectopic pregnancy or anything.

I’ll maybe leave it a couple of days until I feel a bit better then. I can’t face a trip to the doctor. I’m not yet registered with the midwife but I guess I could ask for advice when cancelling my appointment

I’m sorry for your loss.
I would take a test every 3 days and to ensure the line is going down. If it doesn’t you will need to see a go for HCG and may need surgical to get rid of any remaining tissue.
It’s important to make sure your levels are 0 as it can be dangerous for you

I’m sorry for your loss.
I would phone your GP. I had a miscarriage and didn’t tell anyone just got on with it and in my next pregnancy had bleeding a bit later and phoned gp. Was nicely told off for not phoning first time and I was sent for a scan.

I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers I've had three miscarriages, and no, it's not necessary to go to the hospital. When you are ready, you should call your GP to register the miscarriage on your file. They will refer you for a scan if they think you need one. Keep an eye on the bleeding and take pregnancy tests until you get a negative. If you are worried, you can contact the EPU at your local hospital directly, and they should offer to scan you.

Thank you for all the advice. I was living overseas during my previous pregnancies and losses and saw my ObGyn directly from early pregnancy so I just contacted her office. I just didn’t really know what to do here.
I’ll call someone in the morning as long as I feel physically ok tonight. I don’t really want to have to go for a scan alone (due to Covid) right now and am much happier in my own bed
