It's a chemical pregnancy, right?

I found out I was pregnant on Tuesday, 4 positive tests gradually stronger. Then yesterday I started bleeding. At first it was pink on wiping but overnight it turned to bright red.

Today I've had cramps on and off and a lot of bright red blood. Usually my AF starts slowly with very little blood. This is very watery. Sorry for tmi but I also passed two bits of what looked like tissue. Felt a lot like raw chicken skin.

Since then pain has decreased but bleeding is the same.

I haven't taken a test, but I assume the pregnancy is over. My boobs are still a bit sore and I felt a bit sick this morning still but less than I have been.

Any advice or similar experiences v much welcome.

Hi lovely,

I am so sorry to hear of this my heart hurts for you.

It does sound like a chemical pregnancy but I would ring your gp or go to an epu as soon as you can.

Xx

Thank you Mims. Its truly crap. Is there need to speak to anyone? Assuming not in great pain and nothing changes.

I'm sorry this is happening to you Flowers
When would you have expected your period (ie how late were you?)

Toastedsesame · 31/01/2021 21:13

Period was due yesterday, so It arrived on time essentially as the spotting started then.

Oh dear I'm sorry about this. Is this the first time you have been pregnant?
There is probably nothing you need to do, and a pg test might still show positive for a while. It's very unlikely you would not be successful next time, but it could be worth mentioning this to your GP so it counts in terms of problems (basically I'm trying to say if you were unlucky enough to have this happen three times you would get tests to look for a cause).

Thank you @ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown I've got a 3 year old son and I was pregnant once before him but had a termination. I'm hoping it's just a one off but I will mention it to my GP as you say, just in case.

Thank you.

Hi OP, I'm sorry that you're going through this, it's crap. I've had 3 chemical pregnancies and I started bleeding on or soon after my period due date. The bleeding has been different each time, cramps with 2 but close to no pain during my last one which was unusual but my GP wasn't concerned.

Do speak with your GP, it's likely they won't be able to do anything but at least can put it on your file and answer any questions you might have. The stats say it doesn't mean it will happen again.

Thanks so much for that @choccrumpet it was dreadful so I can't imagine how hard it is to go through it more than once. I think next cycle I will wait til I am late for AF to test, might take some of the heartache away.

To be honest in a way they feel a bit easier because I've experienced it before, I know what it is, it's nothing new but on the other hand 3 is a lot and a little scary. Hearing others experiences has helped me a lot and I feel positive and hopeful to try again.

I have told myself the same thing about testing but every time I still test early because I can tell something is different.

Stay positive and hope for the best x

@choccrumpet you too, and thanks for your kind words x
